Promoting dialogue between Lebanese communities in the border villages; and since the beginning of the war in Syria, between Syrian refugees and host communities;
Strengthening the capacities of local authorities and communities (through meetings, training and micro-projects) to cope with crisis situations as well as to contribute to the local development of their villages;
Support the most vulnerable populations in Lebanon by providing direct aid and facilitating the efforts and initiatives of independent volunteers and organizations from all around the world.
Job Description:
THE FIELD OFFICER WILL FULFILL THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports in the initial assessment and selection of beneficiaries on Salam's projects;
Collect data and do assessments
Implement Salam's activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and work plans
Follows up on the day-to-day project implementation and adheres to the donor policies and procedures;
Submit weekly plans and daily reports to the line manager
Coordinate activities with key stakeholders, and reach out to other organizations in the field - to improve collaborations and build synergies
Follow up on the participant’s involvement in the activities;
Responsible for ensuring high-quality visibility and quality of service delivery;
Meeting operational standards by contributing to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, and resolving problems; identifying system improvements in coordination with management
Maintain a close follow up with the Project Supervisor to ensure proper allocation of resources, proper scheduling and coordination of staff, assets and beneficiaries.
Prevents interruptions to service delivery by complying with, and enforcing, procedures;
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
Internal Coordination
Submit weekly activity reports to the line manager
Ensure the accuracy of reported data, by following internal guidelines;
Refer complaints and delays to relevant Salam’s staff;
Keep line managerand Security officer/ Logistics/ Management Team informed about any security issues. Follow internal security guidelines;
Keep an accurate Reporting system;
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
At least 1-year minimum experience of management;
At least 1-year experience in humanitarian context;
Education degree: Bachelor Degree in social sciences, education, development or any related field;
Fluent in Arabic, with written and verbal English skills and the ability to work in an international context;
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, willingness to take initiative;
Monitoring and Evaluation experience;
Strong organizational skills and attention to details
Able to handle confidential and politically sensitive issues in a responsible and mature manner
Passion and belief in the project’s ethos
Experience of working with IDPs/Refugees is an advantage
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Highly motivated and with a desire to work with local communities;
Ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people; from different ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds
Excellent knowledge of Bekaa area
