Scope of responsibility:

Prepare, provide, and present health education sessions to the population/patients according MSF principles and values in order to promote health information through health measures and hygiene conditions as well as provide information about MSF activities in order to facilitate access to healthcare.

Function responsibilities include:

• Prepare material and deliver health education sessions, messages and topics addressed to different populations regarding hygiene, diseases, and prevention.
• Ensure all the patients and caretakers are well informed, according to protocols, about health-related issues and services provided.
• Monitor health situation and living conditions of the population by conducting community assessment. collecting information related to food security, checking vaccination status of children, looking actively for any defaulters in programs that require this type of research, collecting information on number of people arriving or leaving the community, births, and deaths in the community, etc.
• Identify people with medical problems, contact with medical team and report for immediate transfer if needed. He/she has to inform to the line manager about any problem encountered (population, equipment, material…).
• Report to line manager of all results of screening and visits on a regular basis.

Specific activities:

• Maintain good relationship with community leaders and other key people and attend different meetings regarding community health activities organized inside the community with line manager approval.
• Keeping the information, eduaction and communication (IEC) material in good condition, propose the new material to diversifie the quality of session.
• Participante in different survey, assessment regarding patients needs. Collect data on daily basis, produce the report using Kobo and report any context, health issue to the HP team and manager.

Requirements

Education

• Essential: Lebanese “Brevet” Certificate issued by the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education (شهادة المتوسطة اللبنانية "البريفيه" صادرة من وزارة التربية والتعليم العالي اللبنانية) or any other higher education.
• Desirable: Community health, public health, or paramedical diploma.
• Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in public health.

Experience   

• Desirable: A minimum of one year of previous work experience in a similar position.
• Desirable: A minimum of one year of previous experience with local or international Nongovernmental organization (NGO).

Languages           

• Essential: Full professional proficiency of the Arabic Language.
• Essential: Limited professional proficiency in English.

Knowledge         

• Essential: Basic to intermediate computer literacy using MS-office applications (MS-Word, MS-Outlook, MS-Excel).
