الوصف: 

The Protection Officer will oversee the implementation and integration of Community-Based Protection (CBP), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and Child Protection (CP) components across the project. This role involves technical guidance, capacity building, coordination, and monitoring to ensure the delivery of high-quality protection services in accordance with Amel's standards and international guidelines.

 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilites: 

Internal and External Coordination

  • Actively participate in regular internal and external coordination meetings related to Protection, GBV, and CP programs.
  • Collaborate with Amel’s partners, local stakeholders, and external actors to strengthen referral pathways and information-sharing mechanisms.
  • Identify linkages between CBP, GBV, and CP components to promote integrated approaches across projects.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of program strategies and prioritize action points.
  • Ensure the alignment of project activities with national and donor frameworks, contributing to log frames, indicator reporting, and strategy updates.
  • Represent Amel in external coordination meetings, working groups, and donor engagements when required.

 Technical Guidance and Capacity Building

  • Provide technical guidance to teams implementing CBP, GBV, and CP activities, ensuring adherence to international protection standards.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on GBV, CP, gender inclusion, and protection mainstreaming for staff, social workers, and community volunteers.
  • Coach and mentor caseworkers, social workers, and community-based volunteers in delivering psychosocial support (PSS), case management, and awareness activities.
  • Establish and maintain capacity-building plans with clear objectives, timelines, and outcomes for protection staff.

 Monitoring and Reporting

  • Oversee the implementation of PSS, case management, and participatory community activities, ensuring quality and relevance to community needs.
  • Collect and analyze protection trends and data from field teams for reporting and decision-making purposes.
  • Prepare regular performance and progress reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) with qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Supervise and support protection teams, including GBV case management staff, hotline operators, psychotherapists, and community volunteers.
  • Conduct field visits to monitor the delivery of CBP, GBV, and CP activities, providing feedback and technical support.

 Team and Project Management

  • Ensure smooth communication and coordination among project teams, promoting comprehensive links between different project components.
  • Develop and monitor work plans for field teams to ensure timely, high-quality implementation of protection activities.
  • Provide objective feedback on staff performance, offering guidance for professional development.
  • Address HR-related issues within teams, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Reports to: Protection Program Coordinator and GBV Program Coordinator

Requirements, Qualifications and Skills: 

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in protection, GBV case management, and/or psychosocial support.
  • Previous experience managing teams and delivering technical training is required.
  • Knowledge of actors and protection frameworks in Lebanon (Beirut, Mount Lebanon, Bekaa, and South Lebanon) is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess needs, analyze trends, and propose actionable solutions.
  • Experience in coordinating and monitoring CBP, GBV, and CP interventions.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering trainings and facilitating capacity-building programs.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in data collection tools and reporting frameworks.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is required; French is a plus.
