Job Description

The Communication Officer will be responsible for developing and producing multimedia materials, including videos and printed educational materials, to support protection awareness campaigns. He will manage the design, production, and distribution of all project visibility items, including branding materials and success stories. Additionally, they will oversee media relations and ensure consistent messaging aligned with project goals.

Justification:
This position ensures effective communication strategies and outreach to target audiences. By creating educational and visibility materials, the officers enhance the project's reach and impact while supporting donor visibility requirements. His work is integral to promoting the project's success and ensuring community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

    Content Creation and Development:
        Develop and produce multimedia materials such as videos, brochures, and infographics to support remote education and protection awareness campaigns.
        Create and design educational and promotional materials aligned with project objectives and donor branding guidelines.
        Write and edit success stories, press releases, and reports showcasing project achievements and impact.

    Visibility and Branding:
        Oversee the design, production, and distribution of visibility items, including banners, posters, and branded materials.
        Ensure all communication materials adhere to donor and organizational branding and visibility requirements.
        Collaborate with project teams to incorporate beneficiary stories and project milestones into communication efforts.

    Media Relations:
        Manage relationships with local and national media outlets to ensure positive and accurate coverage of project activities.
        Organize press events, media briefings, and field visits to enhance media engagement.
        Monitor media coverage and provide regular updates on public perceptions and media trends related to the project.

    Digital Communication and Social Media:
        Develop and manage content for social media platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and engaging outreach.
        Monitor and analyze digital engagement metrics to optimize communication strategies.
        Support the development of online campaigns to increase awareness and community engagement.

    Stakeholder Engagement:
        Coordinate with beneficiaries, partners, and stakeholders to ensure inclusive and representative communication materials.
        Support workshops and training sessions to enhance stakeholder understanding of the project and its impact.
        Gather feedback from target audiences to improve the effectiveness of communication strategies.

    Documentation and Reporting:
        Maintain an organized archive of all communication materials and media coverage.
        Contribute to donor reports by providing updates on communication activities and visibility efforts.
        Document best practices and lessons learned to inform future communication strategies.

Qualifications

    Education:
        Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Media Studies,digital marketing or a related field.

    Experience:
        At least 2–3 years of experience in communications, media, or public relations, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector.
        Proven experience in creating multimedia and visibility materials for donor-funded projects.

    Technical Skills:
        Proficiency in graphic design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro).
        Strong knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
        Excellent writing and editing skills in both Arabic and English.

    Language:
        Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
