BACKGROUND:
The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization based in Beirut. CLDH was created in 2006 by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily), which has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human rights violations.
CLDH monitors the human rights situation in Lebanon, fights enforced disappearance, impunity, arbitrary detention and racism and rehabilitates the victims of torture. CLDH regularly organizes press conferences, workshops and advocacy meetings on human rights issues in Lebanon and collects, records and documents human rights abuses in reports and press releases.
CLDH team on the ground supports initiatives aimed at determining the fate of all missing persons in Lebanon.
CLDH regularly follows up on numerous cases of arbitrary detention and torture in Lebanon in coordination with Lebanese and international organizations, and with the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention WGAD and the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture.
CLDH currently has 4 offices: Dora, Zalka, Bekka, & Tripoli
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Psychologist reports to Nassim Center Coordinator.
and has the primary responsibility of meeting with beneficiaries and implementing the appropriate interventions and strategies.
- Identify beneficiaries who need psychiatric treatment and coordinate with the psychiatrist on the referred cases.
- Create a psychological treatment plan for the beneficiaries.
- Provide psychological assessment of beneficiaries.
- Provide identified psychological treatment to the beneficiaries.
- Write regular evolution reports in the beneficiaries’ files.
- Prepare case documentation monthly reports.
- Fill up Istanbul protocol template for each beneficiary.
- Coordinate and communicate the development of different cases with Social Worker and concerned parties.
- Attend all weekly Nassim team meetings and other CLDH related meetings.
- Organize group sessions in coordination with the social workers.
- Contribute to program development activities.
- Visit the prisons for psychological follow up with identified beneficiaries when needed.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a psychologist
Great communication skills and team player
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Organization and time management skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Fluency in English and Arabic language, basic skills in French
Education:
A minimum of master's degree in Psychology with proof of registration in the ministry of health
Location:
The psychologist is based in CLDH office in Dora with visits to Roumieh Central Prison.
