Regulatory requirements and Compliance Consultant
I’mpossible is partnering with PCPM under an LHF-funded project to address unmet multi-sectoral needs in Wadi Khaled, Jered El Qayteh and Sahel Akkar focusing on the most vulnerable populations, including the elderly and Persons with Specific Needs (PWSN).
As part of this project, I'mPossible recognizes the importance of regulatory compliance as a foundation for responsible and effective program implementation. The organization is committed to equipping its staff with the skills needed to navigate legal and regulatory frameworks, ensuring compliance, identifying risks and opportunities, and strengthening internal controls, governance, and risk management processes to enhance financial and operational efficiency.
To further improve project implementation, I’mPossible is optimizing reporting and monitoring systems and building staff capacity to track financial and programmatic indicators. This approach ensures transparency, accountability, and alignment with project goals, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of interventions.
Description:
- Purpose of the assignment:
I’mpossible is seeking a consultant to review existing SOPs, procedures and policies to identify gaps and areas for improvement. The consultant will provide the team and management with a comprehensive assessment of the organization's current standing in terms of regulatory compliance and outline the necessary changes or enhancements. Based on the findings, the consultant will recommend updates or develop new policies as needed.
Additionally, a training session will be conducted to ensure a clear understanding of the revised policies, procedures, and their individual roles in maintaining compliance.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing I’mPossible SOPs, procedures, and policies.
- Identifying areas where the organization falls short of compliance requirements.
- Revising and proposing improvements to the SOPs, procedures, policies as needed.
- Developing a regulatory compliance framework tailored to I’mpossible scope of work.
- Assisting with the development of compliance policies and SOPs specific to the I’mpossible projects.
- Providing training for the staff members on regulatory compliance and best practices while using interactive and participatory methods, such as presentations, group discussions, case studies, and hands-on exercises, to ensure active engagement.
- Providing comprehensive training materials such as presentation slides, templates, and practical tools for regulatory requirements and compliance.
- Providing recommendations for continuous compliance improvements.
- Providing a final report summarizing key outcomes of the training, including recommendations for further actions and improvements.
Deliverables:
- Initial assessment report: detailed review of existing SOPs, policies, and procedures with Identification of any gaps and compliance weaknesses.
- Gap analysis and recommendations report: detailed assessment identifying areas requiring improvement or updates, accompanied by specific recommendations to align policies and procedures with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Revised SOPs, procedures and policies to meet compliance standards when needed.
- Compliance framework tailored to I’mPossible’s activities, designed to ensure all operational areas align with local and donor’s regulations. The document will include a detailed plan for integrating revised or new policies and procedures into daily operations.
- Training materials, including presentations, handouts, and guides for staff.
- Final report summarizing the entire consultancy period.
Duration of the consultancy: 3 days training
Qualifications:
- A degree in fields such as Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Project Management, International Development, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with donor-funded projects, especially in international development, humanitarian work, or nonprofit sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring compliance frameworks within donor-funded environments.
- Strong understanding of local and international auditing standards.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Substantive and linguistic quality of all materials and reports prepared.
