Call for Marketing and Advertisement consultant - Food System Challenge

Context & Background

Berytech is a leading organization in Lebanon's Entrepreneurial Ecosystem that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting. Hence, Berytech is taking part in the country's economic revival, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.

About FSC PROJECT

The Food System Challenge supports businesses to solve core challenges of the food system in Lebanon, and more specifically in the sectors of dairy and meat production (cow, goat, sheep), cereals and pulses (and its by-products), protected horticulture (Classical green houses, hydroponics, and aquaponics), and domesticated edible herbs and plants.

The Food System Challenge is implemented by the World Food Programme (WFP) and Berytech through support from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Throughout FSC’s previous and current cycles, the program supported over 40 SMEs to fortify the Lebanese food system to create a more sustainable ecosystem.

SME Background Farmhill specializes in producing artisanal cheeses such as Kashkaval, Mozzarella, and Manchego, using fresh milk sourced from local farmers. With plans to expand its market reach and enhance its competitive positioning, Farmhill is focusing on strategic marketing efforts that effectively communicate its unique selling propositions: quality, sustainability, and authenticity. A robust marketing and advertising strategy is critical to achieving these goals.Objective

The objective of this consultancy is to:

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy combining traditional advertising and digital marketing.
  2. Increase brand awareness across target markets and customer segments.
  3. Enhance Farmhill’s digital footprint and engage with audiences through social media and online platforms.
  4. Plan and implement promotional campaigns, including seasonal and holiday initiatives, to boost sales and customer engagement.

Scope of work:

The consultant will be required to deliver the following services:

1. Marketing and Advertising Strategy Development:

  • Design a comprehensive marketing plan integrating traditional and digital channels.
  • Identify target audiences and key messaging tailored to Farmhill’s brand identity.
  • Establish measurable KPIs to track campaign success.

2. Traditional Advertising:

  • Develop advertising materials for print, TV , and outdoor media.
  • Collaborate with media outlets for placement and scheduling of advertisements.
  • Recommend strategies for maximizing the impact of traditional media campaigns.

3. Digital Marketing:

  • Create and manage content for digital platforms, including Farmhill’s website, social media channels, and email marketing.
  • Plan and execute pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns and social media ads on platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Optimize content for search engine visibility (SEO) to drive organic traffic.

4. Content Creation:

  • Produce high-quality visuals, including product photography, videos, and infographics, for use across all marketing channels.
  • Develop engaging and culturally resonant social media posts, stories, and reels.

5. Promotional Campaigns:

  • Design and execute seasonal and holiday-themed marketing campaigns.
  • Develop promotional strategies to drive customer engagement, including giveaways, discounts, and interactive events.

6. Analytics and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze the performance of campaigns across all channels.
  • Provide monthly reports with actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.

DurationThe selected Consultant is expected to start their activities as soon as possible after selection (the effective date is to be confirmed), and the contract duration is up to 10 months. Key Deliverables

    1.  A comprehensive marketing and advertising strategy document.
    2. Monthly advertising content and schedule for traditional and digital platforms.
    3. A portfolio of creative assets, including social media posts, print materials, and promotional visuals.
    4. Seasonal/holiday campaign plans and calendars.
    5. Monthly performance reports covering engagement metrics, ad campaign ROI, and SEO rankings.

Qualifications:

The selected consultant should have:

  • Proven experience in marketing and advertising, including traditional and digital media.
  • Expertise in content creation and social media management.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Familiarity with the food and FMCG sectors is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Lebanese and Mediterranean cultural dynamics is a plus.

How to apply

The selected Consultant is expected to start his/her activities soon after selection; the exact timeline and effective working days are to be set based on both the company’s and the Consultant’s availabilities. The total budget allocated for the intervention is between $8,000 and $10,000.

Candidates should submit the following documents.

  • Technical (maximum two pages) describing the methodology to conduct the work based on the content suggested in the section: “Scope of Work, Duration, and Deliverables” elaborating it further.
  • Profile and project references (maximum two pages): A brief explanation of the consultant(s) background should be submitted (CVs should be included as an annex) along with project references on the topic.
  • Financial Proposal describing the expected remuneration and the proposed timeframe of the intervention. Quotations in response to this RFP must be priced on a Level-of-effort (Number of working days) term contract, all-inclusive basis, including delivery and all other costs. Pricing must be presented in USD and offers must remain valid for not less than 30 calendar days after the offer deadline. Offerors are requested to provide quotations on their official quotation format or letterhead.
