Call for Re-Branding and packaging Consultant- Food System Challenge
Context & Background
Berytech is a leading organization in Lebanon's Entrepreneurial Ecosystem that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting. Hence, Berytech is taking part in the country's economic revival, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.
About FSC PROJECT
The Food System Challenge supports businesses to solve core challenges of the food system in Lebanon, and more specifically in the sectors of dairy and meat production (cow, goat, sheep), cereals and pulses (and its by-products), protected horticulture (Classical green houses, hydroponics, and aquaponics), and domesticated edible herbs and plants.
The Food System Challenge is implemented by the World Food Programme (WFP) and Berytech through support from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Throughout FSC’s previous and current cycles, the program supported over 40 SMEs to fortify the Lebanese food system to create a more sustainable ecosystem.
SME Background
Dairy Baroud, founded in 1975 and registered as Baroud Center SAL in 2023, is a well-established dairy producer in Lebanon. Specializing in production of dairy products such as white cheese, hard cheese, yogurt, and labneh, the company sources fresh milk from local farmers and has built a strong reputation for quality and sustainability. Baroud Center SAL primary markets include Keserwan, Baabda, and Metn regions, with expansion efforts targeting GCC markets.
Objective
The objective of this consultancy is to assist Baroud Center in developing a comprehensive re-branding and packaging strategy that:
- Enhances its market presence and brand identity.
- Meets local and international packaging standards.
- Appeals to health-conscious and eco-conscious consumers.
- Supports Baroud Center’s efforts to penetrate new markets and increase consumer trust.
Scope of work
The consultant will be responsible for the following:
- Brand Analysis and Strategy Development:
- Assess the current brand identity and packaging.
- Develop a refreshed brand strategy aligned with Baroud Center’s values and target markets.
- Packaging Design:
- Create modern, export-ready packaging designs for the full product line.
- Ensure compliance with international food safety and packaging regulations.
- Incorporate traceability elements into the packaging.
- Market Research:
- Conduct research to identify consumer preferences and packaging trends.
- Provide insights into competitors’ branding and packaging strategies.
- Implementation Support:
- Oversee the production of sample packaging.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure a seamless transition to new designs.
- Capacity Building:
- Train Baroud Center’s marketing and operations teams on brand positioning and packaging innovation.
Key Deliverables
- Brand identity guidelines, including logo, typography, and color palette.
- Packaging prototypes for all product lines, optimized for both local and international markets.
- Comprehensive market research report.
- Implementation plan for rolling out the new branding and packaging.
- Training materials for internal teams on maintaining brand consistency.
Duration
The selected Consultant is expected to start their activities as soon as possible after selection (the effective date is to be confirmed), and the contract duration is up to 4 months.
Qualifications:
The ideal consultant/consultancy firm should meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience in branding and packaging design, particularly in the food and beverage industry.
- Knowledge of Lebanese and international food safety and packaging standards.
- Demonstrated ability to align branding with sustainability and eco-conscious trends.
- Strong portfolio showcasing successful branding projects for SMEs.
- Experience in conducting market research and providing actionable insights.
How to apply
The selected Consultant is expected to start his/her activities soon after selection; the exact timeline and effective working days are to be set based on both the company’s and the Consultant’s availabilities. The total budget allocated for the intervention is between $3,500 and $4,000.
Candidates should submit the following documents.
- Technical (maximum two pages) describing the methodology to conduct the work based on the content suggested in the section: “Scope of Work, Duration, and Deliverables” elaborating it further.
- Profile and project references (maximum two pages): A brief explanation of the consultant(s) background should be submitted (CVs should be included as an annex) along with project references on the topic.
- Financial Proposal describing the expected remuneration and the proposed timeframe of the intervention. Quotations in response to this RFP must be priced on a Level-of-effort (Number of working days) term contract, all-inclusive basis, including delivery and all other costs. Pricing must be presented in USD and offers must remain valid for not less than 30 calendar days after the offer deadline. Offerors are requested to provide quotations on their official quotation format or letterhead.

Depending on the situation, each client has the right to take conference calls instead of site visit. The client has the right to stop meeting consultants/consultancy firm at his disclosure.
