Call for Digital Marketing and E-commerce Consultant - Food System Challenge
Context & Background
Berytech is a leading organization in Lebanon's Entrepreneurial Ecosystem that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting. Hence, Berytech is taking part in the country's economic revival, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.
About FSC PROJECT
The Food System Challenge supports businesses to solve core challenges of the food system in Lebanon, and more specifically in the sectors of dairy and meat production (cow, goat, sheep), cereals and pulses (and its by-products), protected horticulture (Classical green houses, hydroponics, and aquaponics), and domesticated edible herbs and plants.
The Food System Challenge is implemented by the World Food Programme (WFP) and Berytech through support from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Throughout FSC’s previous and current cycles, the program supported over 40 SMEs to fortify the Lebanese food system to create a more sustainable ecosystem.
SME Background
Astral Agricultural SARL, established in 1992, is a Lebanese enterprise specializing in organic farming under its "Beyond Organic" initiative. Located in Damour, Lebanon, the company produces and distributes high-quality, chemical-free fruits and vegetables. Astral operates through direct sales channels, farmers' markets, and a boutique shop in Gemmayze. With a loyal customer base and increasing demand for organic produce, Astral aims to expand its reach through digital marketing and e-commerce platform to cater to a broader range of consumers and emerging markets.
Objective
The objective of this consultancy is to:
- Develop a robust digital marketing strategy to increase brand awareness and customer engagement.
- Design, build, and launch a user-friendly e-commerce platform to enhance direct-to-consumer sales.
- Leverage social media and digital tools to reach new customer segments.
- Drive revenue growth through innovative online sales channels.
Scope of work
The consultant will be responsible for:
Digital Marketing Strategy
- Conducting a comprehensive audit of Astral’s current digital presence.
- Developing a multi-channel digital marketing strategy, including social media, content marketing, email campaigns, and SEO.
- Implementing targeted social media campaigns to engage health-conscious consumers and promote Astral’s "Beyond Organic" products.
- Identifying and collaborating with influencers to amplify Astral’s reach and brand credibility.
E-Commerce Platform Development
- Designing and developing a secure, scalable, and user-friendly e-commerce website.
- Integrating the platform with payment gateways and delivery tracking systems.
- Ensuring the website is optimized for mobile devices and search engines (SEO).
- Including features like subscription-based services, customer reviews, and promotions.
Capacity Building
- Training Astral’s team on using digital marketing tools, managing the e-commerce platform, and analyzing online sales data.
- Providing a framework for creating and maintaining consistent content and campaigns.
Analytics and Monitoring
- Setting up tools to monitor website traffic, sales conversion rates, and campaign effectiveness.
- Providing recommendations for continuous improvement based on analytics insights.
DurationThe selected Consultant is expected to start their activities as soon as possible after selection (the effective date is to be confirmed), and the contract duration is up to 4 months. Key Deliverables

Comprehensive plan with measurable KPIs, timelines, and budgets.
- E-Commerce Platform
Fully functional, live, and operational website integrated with payment and delivery systems.
- Social Media and Campaign Management
Scheduled social media campaigns, partnerships, and content calendars.
- Training Materials
User manuals and training modules for digital marketing and e-commerce management.
- Analytics Dashboard
Tools and reports for tracking campaign performance and online sales data.
Qualifications
The consultant/consultancy firm should possess the following:
- Proven experience in digital marketing and e-commerce development, preferably in the food or organic farming sectors.
- Expertise in designing user-friendly, mobile-optimized e-commerce platforms.
- Strong portfolio of successful digital marketing campaigns.
- Knowledge of Lebanese and regional markets, with experience targeting health-conscious consumers.
- Ability to provide hands-on training and capacity-building support.
How to apply
The selected Consultant is expected to start his/her activities soon after selection; the exact timeline and effective working days are to be set based on both the company’s and the Consultant’s availabilities. The total budget allocated for the intervention is between $4,000 and $4,500.
Candidates should submit the following documents.
- Technical (maximum two pages) describing the methodology to conduct the work based on the content suggested in the section: “Scope of Work, Duration, and Deliverables” elaborating it further.
- Profile and project references (maximum two pages): A brief explanation of the consultant(s) background should be submitted (CVs should be included as an annex) along with project references on the topic.
- Financial Proposal describing the expected remuneration and the proposed timeframe of the intervention. Quotations in response to this RFP must be priced on a Level-of-effort (Number of working days) term contract, all-inclusive basis, including delivery and all other costs. Pricing must be presented in USD and offers must remain valid for not less than 30 calendar days after the offer deadline. Offerors are requested to provide quotations on their official quotation format or letterhead.

Depending on the situation, each client has the right to take conference calls instead of site visit. The client has the right to stop meeting consultants/consultancy firm at his disclosure.
