Multimedia Photojournalist
Tamadun is a Lebanese non-profit organization established in 2017. It coordinates and networks with local associations and international organizations to meet real needs and strengthen vulnerable communities through basic assistance, protection, education, health, and livelihood sectors, maintaining the basic principles of humanitarianism, neutrality, impartiality, and independence.
Currently, Tamadun Association is implementing "Crafts, Arts and Sports Entrepreneurship Support - CASES Project in Lebanon - Saida office, a new initiative targeting South and Mount Lebanon, within the Middle East Field Support Services Project / Cowater International, and funded by Global Affairs Canada, as a response to the urgent needs of entrepreneurs, including youth, women and persons with disabilities, during the current difficult living, economic and security conditions of conflict, displacement and loss, to maintain their ability to sustain, enhance innovation, inclusiveness and sustainable livelihood opportunities, by supporting their small and startup businesses in the crafts, arts and sports sectors.
Scope of work:
Tamadun Association is seeking to hire a freelance Multimedia Photojournalist (individual or firm) to provide photographic coverage, create engaging content, and manage online community interactions, as directed by Tamadun personnel, of assigned activities, meetings, or events for Tamadun’s website, social media accounts, digital and print publications.
The candidate will undertake the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Enable to travel to assigned sites and events (mainly South and Mount Lebanon), minimum twice per month.
- Capture and edit photos and videos from field activities or events for press releases, blog posts, newsletters, and social media updates (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), and manage an efficient post-production process, minimum of twice per week.
- Develop engaging written, visual, and video content to highlight Tamadun’s mission, programs, and impact.
- Create and manage monthly content calendars for social media platforms.
- Coordinate with program teams to source impactful stories and updates.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and media outlets.
- Identify target audiences and craft tailored messaging for each platform.
- Provide regular feedback with insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Create quarterly reports, presentations, and donor newsletters to communicate project updates and achievements.
- Foster an interactive and inclusive online community and ensure increased engagement, followers, and visibility across platforms.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communication, Media Studies, or a related field;
- A minimum of three years of proven experience in managing social media platforms for an organization;
- Strong copywriting and content creation skills in both English and Arabic.
- Excellent photography skills;
- Well equipped with professional-grade photography equipment
- Graphic design and video editing skills (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva, Premiere Pro, or similar design/video software).
Desirable:
- Experience in the non-profit or humanitarian sectors.
- Knowledge of SEO, paid advertising, and digital marketing techniques.
