Terms of Reference (TOR) - Facilitator for Sports for Development 

Project: MAKANI 

Background:  

The Lebanese Organization of Studies and Training (LOST) is implementing a project called MAKANI, which aims to empower youth through Sports for Development (S4D) activities. As part of the project, LOST seeks to engage an experienced S4D facilitator who will lead 12 sessions on S4D subjects for the participating youth 

Objective: The main goal of this TOR is to lay out the conditions and duties for selecting a qualified S4D facilitator to conduct interesting and educational sessions for the young participants in the MAKANI project. 

Scope of Work:  

The chosen facilitator is in charge of the following duties:  

a. Holding 12 S4D classes for young people participating in the MAKANI initiative. 

 b. Creating lesson plans and resources to guarantee that S4D themes are delivered effectively.  

c. Using a range of instructional strategies to engage and inspire young students.  

d. Leading talks and activities around S4D and how it affects personal growth.  

 e. Incorporating Life Skills into the S4D courses to support holistic youth development. 

f. Mentoring and advising young people in areas like communication and leadership abilities.  

g. Tracking and assessing the development and involvement of young people during the sessions. 

 h. Working together with the project team to make sure all goals and objectives are in line with the project. 

Qualifications and Experience:  

a. At least three years' worth of experience working in domains related to sports, ideally with an emphasis on youth development. 

 a. Expertise in leadership abilities, including the capacity to uplift and encourage young people.  

c. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to interact and establish connections with a range of young people.  

d. A thorough awareness of life skills and how to incorporate them into sports programs. 

 e. Excellent planning and time-management abilities to efficiently organize and conduct the courses.  

f. Ideal experience in tracking and assessing how sports programs affect young people's development. 

Deliverables:  

a. Twelve engaging and interactive S4D sessions delivered to the youth participants of the MAKANI project.  

b. Session plans, materials, and resources developed for each session.  

c. Progress reports and evaluations of youth participation and development throughout the sessions. 

Duration and Remuneration:  

a. The contract duration will be for the duration of the 12 sessions, expected to be completed within a specific timeframe.  

b. The facilitator will receive a $300 monthly salary as payment. 

c. The facilitator's schedule will be flexible and will consist of 28 hours per week of work. 

Reporting and Coordination:  

The MAKANI project manager at LOST will be the S4D facilitator's primary point of contact. Updates on progress and regular coordination meetings will be anticipated.
