Empowering Communities Through Inclusive Regreening: A Partnership Opportunity with World Vision Lebanon
Executive Summary
World Vision Lebanon (WVL) is seeking to partner with local NGOs and CSOs to implement the Gender and Disability Inclusive Regreening (GDIR) Project in Akkar, Lebanon. This initiative aims to combat deforestation, restore natural landscapes, and enhance community resilience to climate and related shocks through a gender and disability-inclusive approach. We invite organizations with relevant experience and a commitment to our strategic objectives to collaborate with us in this transformative effort, scheduled from January 15, 2025 until June 30, 2029.
- About World Vision Lebanon
World Vision (WV) is an international partnership dedicated to working with the poor and oppressed to foster human transformation and promote justice. As a relief, development, and advocacy organization, we serve children, families, and communities, inspired by Christian values. Our commitment is to support the world’s most vulnerable people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. Central to our mission is child protection, with a focus on preventing, responding to, and addressing violence, neglect, and exploitation to improve the wellbeing of children.
In Lebanon, World Vision has been fighting poverty since 1975, working in all governorates to promote sustainable development. Our efforts prioritize child protection, health, education, livelihoods, peacebuilding, and humanitarian relief through participatory, community-led approaches. We understand that investing in children not only upholds human rights but also builds the foundation for inclusive social development and economic growth.

World Vision Lebanon’s Strategy
World Vision Lebanon (WVL) aims to transform the lives of 1.5 million girls and boys by 2030 as part of its long-term strategy. This transformative effort is grounded in child-responsive and inclusive programming within empowered and resilient communities, directly supporting World Vision International’s broader goals for child well-being. As outlined in its strategic plan for the fiscal years 2025-2030, WVL has identified three key objectives to address the complex challenges facing children in Lebanon:
- Objective 1: Economically Resilient Households: Fostering households equipped to provide adequately for their children, tackling poverty and economic instability.
- Objective 2: Safe and Supportive Environments: Creating environments where all children, regardless of background, can grow and thrive, focusing on physical safety, psychological, and emotional support.
- Objective 3: Uninterrupted, Quality Education: Advocating for continuous, quality education for all children, including those with disabilities and from marginalized groups, ensuring equal opportunities for personal growth.
