I’mpossible is partnering with PCPM under an LHF-funded project to address unmet multi-sectoral needs in Wadi Khaled, Jered El Qayteh and Sahel Akkar focusing on the most vulnerable populations, including the elderly and Persons with Specific Needs (PWSN).

As part of this project, I’m Possible is committed to equipping its staff with the essential skills needed to identify risks and seize opportunities, while strengthening internal controls, governance frameworks, and risk management processes. These efforts aim to ensure both financial accountability and operational efficiency.

The organization is focused on optimizing project implementation by enhancing reporting and monitoring systems, as well as building staff capacity to track both financial and programmatic indicators. This approach will help ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with the project's goals, ultimately improving the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the interventions.

 

Description:

  1. Purpose of the assignment:
    I’mpossible is seeking a qualified consultant to deliver a 3-day training on Budget Management  aimed at enhancing the financial acumen of the implemented projects by the organization.
  2. Key Responsibilities:

-Design a comprehensive 3-day training curriculum that covers:

  • Understanding different types of costs: direct, indirect, fixed, and variable costs.
  • Definition and classification of indirect costs including administrative, overhead and facilities costs.
  • Differentiating between direct and indirect costs in project budgets and their impact on financial planning.
  • Forecasting budget needs based on project scope, donor requirements, and financial objectives.
  • Developing strategies for accurate financial forecasting and resource allocation.
  • Common challenges organizations face related to budget management, including cost recovery and indirect cost allocations.

 

-Delivering the 3-day training program through interactive and engaging methods, including:

  • Presentations with real-world examples.
  • Group discussions and collaborative work.
  • Case studies to analyze successful fundraising campaigns.
  • Hands-on exercises that allow participants to practice creating fundraising plans and proposals.

-Providing training materials such as presentation slides, templates, and tools for budget management.

-Facilitating pre- and post-training assessments to measure participants' progress in budget management skills.

-Submitting a final report that summarizes key outcomes, participant feedback, and recommendations for improving budget management practices.

 

Deliverables:

  • A budget management training program that includes a cost allocation plan, outlines methods for allocating indirect costs across projects, tailored to the needs of the organization.
  • Policy on cost recovery and indirect cost allocation, aligned with donor and legal requirements.
  • Interactive training sessions on budget planning, monitoring and reporting.
  • Training materials including presentations, handouts, case studies, and reference guides, that participants can use during and after the training.
  • A comprehensive report detailing participant feedback, learning outcomes, and recommendations.

Duration of the consultancy:  3 days training

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s preferred) and experience in conducting training sessions with non-profit organizations.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in budget management, financial planning, or related financial field.
  • Proven track record in designing and delivering effective training programs, with a focus on budget management (at least 3 similar assignments).
  • Strong knowledge of financial management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with donor reporting requirements and compliance standards.

  • Excellent communication and training skills and ability to explain complex financial concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity to community needs.
