Position’s mission:
Under the supervision of the Project Manager and in close collaboration with the Regional MHPSS Specialist, the MHPSS Officer ensures effective implementation of MHPSS projects, focusing on quality and consistency of technical standards within project activities. The MHPSS Officer is responsible for delivering technical expertise and providing training to HI teams, partners, and community stakeholders involved in MHPSS activities, ensuring the alignment of interventions with identified needs and program objectives. The MHPSS Officer is also tasked with building the technical capacity of partners and providing coaching to ensure the efficient and impactful delivery of MHPSS services. The MHPSS Officer works collaboratively with the Project Manager and Regional MHPSS Specialist to support project teams in implementing effective MHPSS interventions and achieving high-quality outcomes in response to project goals.
Reports to: Project Manager (PM).
Collaboration and Support: Within the project structure, the MHPSS Officer collaborates closely with various positions and teams to facilitate effective program delivery and support:
- Internal: Operations Team, Project Team, Regional MHPSS Specialist, MEAL staff, support services team.
- External: project partners (including Psychologists and Social Workers) the authorities in the project area implementation, other stakeholders including local organizations and iNGOs in the area of implementation.
Area of Intervention:
- Office in Beirut and Alay
- Frequent field visits to other areas of intervention
Responsibilities
Responsibility (:1): Providing guidance and technical support to projects in accordance with the technical frameworks and general standards of his/her sectoral scope
- Deliver technical support and guidance to HI teams and local partner organizations on the practical implementation of MHPSS interventions.
- Ensure MHPSS activities align with Rehabilitation, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and Reproductive Health (RH) services where relevant.
- Support the adaptation of project activities to meet internal and global standards (IASC, Sphere, WHO), suggesting necessary adjustments to improve service delivery.
Responsibility (2): Providing Capacity Building
- Identify training needs and contribute to developing training plans for MHPSS staff, including local partners.
- Conduct practical training sessions on MHPSS topics such as Safe Identification and Referral, Psychological First Aid, Individual and Group Counselling, and other scalable interventions, among others.
- Document training outcomes and provide regular on-the-job coaching and support through field visits and case discussions.
Responsibility (3): Ensuring Regular Reporting and Knowledge Management
- Report regularly on activities to the line manager, including technical feedback and recommendations.
- Support the collection and documentation of lessons learned and best practices to contribute to project improvement.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports to the Project Manager, providing updates on project activities and progress.
Responsibility (4): Contributing to Ensure the External Technical Influence of HI on its Perimeter
- Represent HI’s MHPSS activities at relevant local and regional meetings with partners as directed by the Project Manager.
- Support collaborative efforts with technical partners, fostering effective coordination for successful project implementation.
Responsibility (5): Emergency Preparedness and Response Responsibilities
- Contribute to the support or implementation of emergency preparedness actions of the program(s) and, during an emergency, adapts his/her work modality in order to contribute to an effective HI humanitarian response.

Education:
Essential:
MA in Clinical Psychology with MOPH license to practice.
Certification in an evidence-based psychotherapy (e.g., CBT, IPT)
Prefferable :
• Certification/training in scalable interventions such as SH+, PM+
• Other certificates demonstrating continuous professional development.
Experience:
Essential
- Minimum 1 years’ experience as a clinical psychologist
- Minimum 2 years’ practical experience working with non-governmental organizations in emergency and/or development contexts
- Experience in providing professional capacity building and trainings to teams
Preferrable:
• Practical experience in working with vulnerable populations including persons with disabilities.

Basic salary ranges for the position is going to be paid according to the experience and to HI salary Grid.
Basic Salary: starting 1,700 USD if full time position and will be based on activity rate if part-time position
