About The Centre for Social Sciences Research and Action
The CeSSRA is an action-oriented, non-profit research center for and about civil society. We are a multidisciplinary space creating synergies and bridging between researchers, experts, civil society and NGO practitioners, and activists. The CeSSRA aims to foster social change through innovative uses of social science, digital technologies, and publication and exchange of knowledge.
Main Tasks:
The Project Manager ensures the overall management of the projects under their responsibility.
Under the direct supervision of the co-directors, the Project Manager’s main tasks include:
- Provide coordination and effective management to projects under their responsibility;
- Manage the projects by planning, tracking, and delivering project activities in accordance with the projects agreements;
- Establish work plans, set performance targets and indicators, and identify challenges and strategies to achieve project aims;
- Ensure sound management of grants, leading on the coordination, preparation, and submission of donor reports, under the supervision of the co-directors and in collaboration with other departments as needed;
- Ensure implementation is in compliance with internal policies as well as donors’ policies and procedures;
- Develop, plan, and deliver regional and national workshops and events according to clearly devised agendas;
- Participate in the centre’s resource mobilization efforts.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in social sciences (political science, sociology, anthropology) or relevant field;
- Excellent managerial and organizational skills;
- Proven experience in similar posts in research centres or think tanks;
- At least 5 years of experience in related field;
- Clear writing and sound analytical skills;
- Ability to communicate smoothly including giving and receiving feedback;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required, French is a plus;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good public presentation skills, and a very strong capacity for effective teamwork.
Note: A more junior position might be considered, salary will be commensurate with experience and education, as per the centre’s scale.
