ABOUT INJAZ LEBANON

INJAZ Lebanon is a non-profit organization, an affiliate of Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide, with a mission to equip youth with the skills and mindset they need to become entrepreneurs and business leaders stimulating their communities. It is also a member of INJAZ Al-Arab, a regional network of 14 countries across the MENA region. INJAZ Lebanon delivers programs in partnership with the business sector focusing on entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy.

ABOUT CATALYST

CATALYST is a dynamic program designed to ignite positive change among North Lebanon's youth, catalyzing transformation with a specific focus on gender dynamics and sustainable community building. Catalyst is part of the PCL project that is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). PCL is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in partnership with the Ministry of Social Affairs and in cooperation with INJAZ Lebanon and the municipalities of Al Minaa, Bourj El Yahudiyeh, Deir Ammar, Kfarhelda, Mishmish, and Tripoli.

Overview

INJAZ Lebanon is seeking an experienced Eco-education and Community Trainer for the “7awel Kfarhelda” training. It’s designed to promote coexistence and well-being through eco-education in Kfarhelda, targeting youth from diverse backgrounds. The project will utilize principles of sustainability, recycling, and circular economy to foster community engagement and environmental stewardship.

Objectives

  • Foster coexistence among local and displaced communities by engaging them in shared sustainability initiatives.
  • Enhance the well-being of participants through educational activities focused on environmental responsibility.
  • Encourage appreciation and proactive conservation of Kfarhelda’s natural resources.

Scope of Work

The Eco-education and Community Trainer will develop and execute a specialized training program tailored to the unique needs of the "7awel Kfarhelda" project. This comprehensive program will include the delivery of interactive training sessions focused on the fundamentals of sustainability, circular economy principles, and practical recycling techniques. The trainer will engage participants in designing and implementing a community-centric environmental project that highlights Kfarhelda's natural beauty while promoting eco-friendly practices. The curriculum will be designed to foster coexistence and enhance the well-being of the youth through educational activities that connect them with their environment and each other.

Role and Responsibility

  • Curriculum Development: Create a customized training program that incorporates sustainability, recycling, and circular economy concepts, tailored to the diverse backgrounds of the participants.
  • Training Delivery: Conduct interactive and engaging sessions that effectively communicate the importance of environmental stewardship and community involvement.
  • Project Facilitation: Guide participants through the planning and execution of a community project that applies the learned concepts in a practical and visible manner.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly assess the progress of the project and the engagement of participants, making adjustments as necessary to enhance the learning experience.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with local community leaders and organizations to ensure the project aligns with local needs and gains broad community support.

Deliverables

In addition to delivering the coaching sessions, the selected expert will be responsible for consolidating the insights, and recommendations, generated during the sessions into one comprehensive report/document:

  • Attendance and Participation
  • Challenges and Successes
  • Recommendations

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in eco-education, with a focus on youth engagement and community-driven environmental projects.
  • Strong background in designing and implementing educational programs that incorporate circular economy concepts.
  • Excellent facilitation skills and the ability to adapt educational methods to diverse audiences.
  • Commitment to fostering community development and environmental stewardship
  • Ability to multi-task and work a flexible or alternative workweek schedule based on project needs.
  • Availability to deliver the workshops until the end of January 2025.

Evaluation Criteria

The service provider will be selected based on:

  • Relevant Work experience in the field, and portfolio.
  • Certificate
  • The financial proposal.
