Driver Saida+Jezzine

The René Moawad Foundation is recruiting a driver for the region of Saida and Jezzine for the pilot Productive Economic Inclusion in Lebanon (PEIL) project implemented by RMF, World Bank and the Ministry of Social Affairs.

1. Position Overview:

The Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of passengers and goods within the framework of the program. This position involves maintaining a high standard of vehicle care and safety, while adhering to all traffic laws and organizational policies. The driver is responsible for managing vehicle-related activities, including logging official trips, monitoring mileage and fuel consumption, and reporting any vehicle issues to the appropriate authority. Additionally, the driver ensures the upkeep of vehicle equipment such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits, and maintains a smoke-free and clean environment within the vehicle at all times. Regular checks and general repairs are also overseen to ensure the vehicle’s operational readiness.

1. Responsibilities:

Vehicle and Transportation Support:

• Safely transport participants, staff, and goods to and from training sessions and other program activities
• Ensure vehicles are ready and available for scheduled trips, including fuel, maintenance, and cleanliness
• Support participants by ensuring they arrive on time and in a safe environment

Vehicle Maintenance and Tracking:

• Monitor vehicles for necessary maintenance and repairs, addressing any issues promptly
• Track vehicle usage, including mileage, fuel consumption, and repair logs
• Ensure that vehicles are equipped with all necessary safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits
• Report vehicle issues or incidents to the Project Manager or appropriate authority immediately

Reporting/Monitoring:

• Maintain detailed logs of all trips, including destinations, mileage, and passengers transported
• Submit monthly reports on vehicle usage, maintenance needs, and transportation-related expenses
• Ensure transportation schedules are coordinated with program activities, communicating any potential delays or issues

Administration:

• Oversee the scheduling of trips and coordinate with field staff to align transportation with program needs
• Work closely with the Senior Field Coordinator and Field Coordinator to ensure timely and efficient transportation for field visits and training sessions
• Assist the Project Manager with transportation planning for asset transfers and other logistical requirements related to program activities

• Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills, with a strong command of Arabic and a working knowledge of English or French.
• Capable of multi-tasking and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the Project Manager, Job Coach, Senior field coordinator, and field coordination.
• Work well as part of a team, demonstrating cooperation and collaboration.
• Display diligent attention to detail and ensure safety measures are followed at all times.
• Possess proven experience as a driver, with an excellent knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns.
• Stay calm and professional in high-pressure or stressful environments.
• Exhibit punctuality and reliability in all assigned tasks.
• Maintain a tidy appearance and demonstrate high levels of courtesy, discretion, and trustworthiness.
• Show a polite and friendly attitude, treating passengers with the utmost respect.

1. Education and Experience:

• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, whether academic or technical.
• At least 3 years of proven experience driving manual shift vehicles.
• Strong experience working on donor-funded projects.
• Experience working in multiple locations or areas of work.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in driving functions with a flawless, safe driving record.
• Must be a Lebanese national.
• Maximum age limit of 45 years.
