As a Special Educator, you will play a critical role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs and abilities. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all students receive an inclusive and effective education tailored to their strengths and challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Individualized Instruction: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, based on assessments of their strengths, abilities, and areas for growth.
- Differentiated Teaching: Adapt teaching methods, instructional materials, and classroom environments to accommodate the diverse learning styles and needs of students with disabilities or special cases.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with other educators and curriculum specialists to modify existing curriculum materials or develop new ones that are accessible and appropriate for students with special needs.
- Behavioral Support: Implement positive behavior support strategies to promote appropriate behavior and social skills development, and effectively manage challenging behaviors when they arise.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct ongoing assessments to measure students' progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly, ensuring that learning goals are being met.
- Collaboration and Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with students' families, other educators, and support staff to coordinate efforts and ensure a cohesive approach to meeting students' needs.
- Resource Coordination: Identify and access appropriate resources and support services, such as assistive technology, therapy services, and community resources, to enhance students' learning experiences and outcomes.
- Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and inclusion of students with special needs within the school community and beyond, promoting awareness and understanding of their unique strengths and challenges.
Qualifications:
- Special Education Certification: Bachelor's or master's degree in special education or a related field, with appropriate state certification or licensure as a special educator.
- Understanding of Diverse Needs: Knowledge of various disabilities, learning disorders, and developmental delays, as well as strategies for addressing them effectively in an educational setting.
- Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the individual needs and preferences of students, as well as changes in curriculum, technology, and best practices in special education.
- Collaborative Skills: Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support students' holistic development.
- Compassion and Patience: Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to advocating for and supporting the success of students with special needs, regardless of their challenges.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Years of experience: 3-5 years of experience in a related field
- Language: Fluency in English and Arabic is a must

Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility and all staff are required to adhere to the code of conduct, that enshrines the principles of PSEA, always (Both during work hours and outside work hours). Familiarization with, and adherence to, the code of conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training. All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.
