Coaching/ Technical Agricultural Engineer

1. Objective

The main objective of the project is to improve the overall food security of Akkar region through maintaining farmer’s productivity and ensuring equitable access to fresh produce.

The project is built around two main components:

• Emergency component: Improve the access to agricultural products for 10 groups of farmers and 200 households in the current crisis context.
• Development component: Strengthen the resilience of 10 groups of farmers to ensure a sustainable activity.

One of the objectives Fair Trade Lebanon is responsible for is strengthening Vulnerable community members with business development skills training in the Value Chain.

Fair Trade Lebanon is looking for Agricultural Expert to do coaching visits for farmers

1. Outcomes

• The coach/ Agricultural Engineer has to visit 200 farmers (2 hours each visit) within two months starting on 15 April and provide them with specific agricultural practices also try to solve any problem they are facing, give them advice to help increase their production and protect their crops.

1. Deliverables

• Visit 200 farmers’ land in Akkar: 2 hours each visit
• Provide an activity report after 200 visits including a short description on the farmers land situation, the advice and guidance given, the farmers interaction and the farmer’s needs. 

1. Qualifications

• University degree in agriculture engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an agricultural engineer on field.
• Proven knowledge of Fair-Trade principles.

1. Payment terms

• Payments will be made only through bank transfer or bank cheques
• The price will be paid in USD while the VAT will be paid in LBP based on the official exchange rate on the date of the invoice.
• Payment will be made within 15 business days of invoice receipt.
