Full Time Social Worker and Group Session Facilitator
Salam LADC (Salam) is an apolitical, non-religiously affiliated NGO, founded in the South of Lebanon. We provide education and livelihood support services and emergency aid to vulnerable people, regardless of their nationality, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion or political affiliation. Operations are conducted in Beirut, Central Bekaa and Kawkaba. Currently our largest operation is in Central Bekaa, where we offer a multitude of projects within our Saadnayel Community Center and in ITS' through our Bus Project.
We are looking for a trained social worker with experience working with vulnerable communities. Throughout the length of this project (15 months) the activities implemented within this role will vary. We are looking for someone to effectively implement preliminary focus groups which will guide the projects further activities. These focus groups will have the goal of identifying issues in accessing health, hygiene needs, and parenting struggles as well as deciding with beneficiaries how best to evaluate the activities. Further activities will include parent-child, positive parenting and health awareness sessions. The leader will be responsible for contacting and following up with beneficiaries and must be confident and comfortable doing so.
The activities this role is responsible for are varied and include both field and office work. We are looking for a highly independent and confident member of staff who is happy to adapt to new tasks and will take initiative. Experience working in the field with vulnerable communities is required.
Activities will take place in Saadnayel, and in ITS' in the locality, the office is located in Zahlé. Transportation costs are not provided but fuel will be reimbursed if own car is used for activities.
Working hours will be from 10-5 but will the daily schedule will vary depending on which activities are running, finishing no later than 6.
- Social Work Qualifications
- 2+ years Social Work Experience
- Experience working with children
- Experience working with vulnerable and refugee communities
- Fluent in English and Arabic
- Strong computer skills
- French language
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation (MEAL)
- Driving license
- Own transportation
