Outreach Worker

Job Overview:

The outreach worker will be responsible for facilitating project's implementation as per the developed action plan. The outreach worker will conduct regular spot-checks on running sessions. They will be responsible for organizing Psychosocial Support activities in the community and in the community center.

RESPONSIBILITIES, MAIN DUTIES AND REPORTING:

1. Participate in the CP Psychosocial wellbeing baseline tool and support its implementation
2. Participate in the development of the PSS material for children and parents
3. Support volunteer PSS worker and the development of their coaching plan
4. Ensure that the PSS activities taking place in the communities and the settlement respond to the need
5. Support CBPSS activities in the community and in the community center
6. Ensure the correct implementation of the outreach strategy based for CP service delivery at the house hold level for Psychosocial activities
7. Work closely with the Community workers
8. Outreach and support the implementation plan with SDCs in Talya, labwe and Brital
9. Participate actively in the PSS meeting
10. Participate in the development of lesson learned and best practices
11. Report high risk cases to the child protection officer
12. Record forms in tablets and referrals forms
13. Deliver any other responsibility assigned by Project Manager  

REPORTS TO: 

CP Officer.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in social science or any other related field
• Minimum of 1-year experience of implementing child protection programs, preferable social work, in humanitarian or development settings
• Experience working with Syrian communities
• Experience working with street and working children
• Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children
• Comfortable working on the street and at night (on a rotational basis)
• Staunch advocate of child protection and child rights

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively with others
• Ability to work on the street supporting psychosocial activities for street and working children;
• Ability to work on the street at night conducting activities and supporting the team;
• Team player
• Flexible
• network-builder
• have good communication skills
• able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English speaking is a plus
