Invitation for Consultant Educational Content Creators for E-Learning Platform for the ‘Youth Resolve 2’ Project GAME-YR-2022010

Introduction  

GAME Background  

GAME is working for social change through youth-led street sports and culture in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.  

GAME establishes innovative facilities, offers youth leaders training as coaches and role models in street sports and civil society, and gives them the opportunity to use entrepreneurship to make positive changes for themselves and for peers and children.  

GAME is a top 117 NGO with nearly 20 years of experience in lowering the threshold to the positive social communities of street sports and culture. Together with like-minded partners GAME is empowering children and youth from vulnerable areas and refugee settings.  

GAME’s Educational Program for Youth

GAME uses street sports through a ’Sport for Development’ approach to bring positive change into the lives of children, young people, and communities.

GAME offers youth education as volunteer street sports instructors and role models through The GAME Playmaker Program.

They learn to lead weekly practices in street sports and street culture for local children and youth. 

Empowerment, life skills, teamwork, gender equality and civil society are a part of the education and the volunteers serve as role models in underserved, marginalized and/or conflict.

Confidentiality  

GAME will treat the content of all tenders/quotations as being confidential and information provided in the tenders will be used for the purpose of deciding on the award of a contract as described in this document

Scope of Work 

GAME is seeking consultant(s) or local institution to support in the Educational Course Content Creation and Implementation on the GAME online platform ‘GAME Academy’. 

GAME Academy is a free, online educational platform for GAME Playmakers and other volunteers and to all those who want to use Street-Sports activities to empower young people. 

Objective

GAME Lebanon is looking for a consultant(s) to develop the content of the courses for the GAME Academy Online Platform in the listed topics.

  Course Topics:

1. Communication:

• Basic communication skills and principals
• Social media as a tool for marketing or self-promotion.
• Personal Data Protection (Cyber Security)
• Professional Communication:

Interpersonal skills 

Writing skills: CV, Cover Letters, Emails

• Public Speaking

The communication course is divided in the above sub-courses that will remain elective. The participants will have the freedom to choose the sub-course they want to attend or take the full communication course package. 

1. Types of NGOs:

• Humanitarian Action
• Development
• Project Cycle

1. Street Sports and Street Culture for Development 
2. Life Balance:

• Time Management 
• Tips for productivity 

1. Conflict Prevention and Resolution 
2. Climate Change and Sustainability (Awareness, recycle, reduce, reuse, customer cycle)
3. Digital transformation: Course about exploring digital technologies such as mobile phones, cloud computing, and IT for business processes, education and products.

Note: throughout the process of the course’s development, any feedback and suggestion from the consultant(s) will be appreciated.

Structure

Each course shall be divided into chapters or sub-courses (when applicable), and each chapter should not exceed 10 minutes.

Each sub-course should not take more than 2 hours to complete. 

Each course should not take more than 1 week to complete, on the condition that the participant will not attend more than one hour per day.

The participants will have the opportunity to complete the chapters at their own pace and be able to resume their progress at any time.

The course material will be presented in the form of video where the educator will elaborate and explain the learning material. Also, the course will include the written transcript of the learning material.

Proposed assignments will be appreciated when applicable. 

Quiz

Each chapter should end with a quiz. 

The consultant shall prepare multiple quiz questions at the end of each course, the questions will change from one participant to another through random selection.

GAME Academy courses has no failing policy, there is a retake policy instead.

Special Attention

The consultant shall use visual aid, as pictures, videos and other interactive and interesting material to support the information given in the courses. 

Deliverables

The consultant will be invited to attend an introduction meeting on the scope of work of GAME and the GAME Academy Platform to be able to draft the plan for the course creation:

• The consultants will present a Lesson Plan for the chosen course with a clear frame for the course’s learning objectives.
• The consultant should also provide a syllabus with a clear time frame.
• The course transcript will be drafted in Arabic (Familiar dialect) and English and will be added to the course’s content after approval of GAME.
• The consultant will film the chosen courses in the setup provided by GAME in both English and Arabic.

   Note: the videography services will be provided by GAME

Education

A degree in a relevant field (education) or equivalent experience is a must.

   Previous experience in the education sector or conducting online learning courses is appreciated.

Languages: High standards of written and verbal English and Arabic languages. 

Knowledge, expertise, skills:

• Proven experience in developing and implementing teaching material.
• Experience in youth-oriented and community-based programs.
• Proven experience in developing monitoring tools including survey questions or quizzes.
• Facilitation skills and experience in capacity building. 

General Terms and Conditions  

Pre-selected consultant(s) will be invited for an interview, tentatively during the month of December 2022.

GAME will accept the most qualified applicant based on expertise, previous experience and interview.

GAME will not be liable for any costs or expenses incurred in the preparation of an application.

Conflict of Interest  

Any conflicts of interest involving an applicant must be fully disclosed to GAME. Failure to disclose a conflict may disqualify an application or invalidate an award of the contract.  

Intellectual property 

Any concept, policies, trademarks, guidelines or other material developed during the contract period will be considered a copyrighted property of GAME. And the consultant shall not claim any such ownership in such work products intellectual property.

Agreement Period  

The agreement shall start the date of awarding until May 2023.

Safeguarding Behavior Protocols  

While providing this Service, GAME and the service provider will ensure that: 

• Any of their interactions with children or with adult beneficiaries, or with personal data about such persons, will comply with the attached GAME Child protection Policy, and with any other reasonable safeguarding measures that GAME May Specify. 
• Any incidents of harm or risk of harm to children or to adult beneficiaries will be reported immediately to GAME. 
• Any individuals with access to children or adult beneficiaries or to personal data about such persons, shall follow the GDPR privacy policy.
