Communications and Graphic Design Volunteer - Beirut

Project background

The Communications & Graphic Design Volunteer will be responsible for the design and development of creative assets for Save the Children Lebanon’s social media engagement, website, design of print-ready brochures & newsletters, and graphics for videos, etc. Additional responsibilities include the coordination of communication-related duties and support to projects and campaigns.

What you will do

• Apply graphic guidelines to  SC Lebanon communication products;
• Deliver creative and innovative ideas for print, electronic and  web-based communication products.
• Design of reports, briefs, newsletters and other communication materials for print and electronic distribution;
• Improve and edit artwork, photos, charts and other graphic elements in reports and other publications;
• Layout and design SC Lebanon information and communication materials and visibility products (t-shirts, banners, posters, booklets, leaflets, books, flyers,  etc.);
• Strengthen brand identity in all external communication products and publications;
• Propose innovative and compelling visual communication approaches through the close monitoring of the latest graphic design trends.
• Coordinate with programme staff and partners on project level communication plans, visibility requirements, and outreach materials and publications.
• Assist with the organization of external events, meetings, etc.
• Initiate and support any administrative procedures required for SC Lebanon’s communication activities.
• Update Save the Children Lebanon’s Content Hub and Work Place pages.

Minimum qualification and experience:

• University degree in Graphic Design
• A minimum of one year of experience working as a graphic designer. Working experience in development or humanitarian environment is desirable;
• Experience in producing designs for INGOs or advocacy campaigns will be an advantage;
• Strong theoretical and practical background in graphic design, including the use of different types design software packages;
• Show a clear and mature style of design, demonstrating an understanding of the communication requirements of different agencies or INGOs;
• Proven experience of graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes and color management;
• Good understanding of new and evolving technologies and digital platforms;
• Knowledge of standard software packages;
• Strong graphic design skills, including the mastery of all standard design software, included in the Adobe Creative Suite
