Beirut DC is a Lebanese non-profit organization striving to empower filmmakers and audiences from every corner of the Arab world. We create resources, events, and virtual and physical spaces that bring filmmakers, communities, and civil society closer, paving the way for radical and transformative collaboration.

Position Summary

The Programs Manager oversees the creation, implementation, and administration of programs and projects that support the organization’s mission and vision. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
 

Strategic Planning

  • Manage programs following Beirut DC’s mission and vision together with the Director of Programs & in coordination with the Programs Coordinator, and Project Managers.
  • Ensure that program activities are in line with policies and procedures of the organization
  • Develop an effective plan of action for running our programs from inception to completion and make sure program objectives are met
  • Set goals for the programs and track progress, set-backs, and overall performance
  • Develop an evaluation method to assess programs' strengths and identify areas for improvement
  • Set out programs’ budgets in coordination with the Executive and the Finance and the Programs Director
  • Responsible for coordinating with regional and international programs’ implementation partners 
  • Develop new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization

 

Team Management and Implementation 

  • Plan the delivery of the overall programs and activities and coordinate actions among the team
  • Establish and implement a performance-management process for staff and engage volunteers for appropriate program activities
  • Document program activities, collect and maintain records for further analysis and recommendations
  • Monitor and approve the programs’ operations and expenditures within the agreed budget
  • Write reports, evaluate program activities and identify and monitor risks associated with program activities
  • Provide direction, input, and feedback to program staff, and make sure that each member receives proper orientation and training
  • Facilitate group meetings, internally and externally
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
     

Qualifications

  • University degree in the Arts and Cultural Management or four to eight years of work experience in a related field.
  • Proven experience in program management.
  • Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Arab Independent Film Ecosystem is required.
  • Knowledge of the Arab Civil Society Ecosystem is a plus.

 

Overall Experience

  • 5 years or more

 

Soft and Technical Skills

  • Excellent Presentation, written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • French is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of Project Management 
  • Good Partnership Management Track Record
  • Proven experience in program implementation and follow-up
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Capacity to build partnerships to support a variety of programs
  • Creative thinking to spot new opportunities or solve unexpected issues
  • Ability to multitask and deliver according to deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow to build trust and negotiate with partners to ensure the proper delivery of programs
     

Practical Details

  • Full-time job, start as soon as possible.
  • Working out of Beirut DC’s office in Beirut, Lebanon.
  • One-year renewable contract after 3-month probation.
  • Salary according to profile.
