Communication officer

Main Tasks:

• Develop a communication strategy for Lebanon and Syria,
• Ensure effective communications through creating communications content on behalf of the organization,
• Develop, implement and monitor a communication and visibility plan to facilitate better understanding among partners and government about Dorcas/Tabitha as an organization and program progress,
• Implement communication strategies on social media platforms, in order to maximize visibility and highlight Dorcas/Tabitha’s work in Lebanon and Syria,
• Undertake filed visits to gather the information and results related to the programs, be present during activities,
• Develop visibility materials such as leaflets, banners, posters, etc for the projects and centers using their graphic skills,
• Develop bi-monthly newsletter, and share stories with HQ and donors for special events with the help of the reporting officer,
• Work on advocacy elements in close collaboration with the project managers,
• Support program staff in organizing event and managing seminars, workshops, press conferences and field visits as required,
• Collect and synthesize data from the field, and assist the reporting officer in drafting the necessary reports,
• Collect and draft various success stories for reporting from the field,
• With input from the field staff and program officers, produce high quality program progress reports as per donors and Dorcas/Tabitha’s requirements,
• Provide high quality editing and formatting for all program related documents,
• Researching, preparing fact-checking, editing, and producing professional media and communications materials for various audiences and ensuring their timely dissemination and amplification via Dorcas/Tabitha communications channels in Lebanon and Syria,
• Work closely with field teams and the focal points in Dorcas/Tabitha on communications initiatives and messaging.
• Manage social media messenger, and provide appropriate answers to requests in collaboration with the head of program,
• Draft talking points and messages related to the offices in Lebanon and in Syria, for meetings and workshops.
• Produce and encourage programs team to produce strategic and general interest news and features content for dissemination to external audiences via Dorcas/Tabitha’s channels.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of journalists and media organizations,
• Respond to media enquiries on time and collaborate with field team for related field visits.
• Provide relevant expert services to the project management unit, program components and implementing partners on reporting and communications and act as a facilitator or trainer,
• Provide through progress reporting continuous analysis of the achievements, facilitate project review, evaluation and audits,
• Develop donors reporting date and requirements template,

• Attend sector working groups in Lebanon or in Syria when needed,
• Attend coordination meetings when requested,
• Ability to visit Syria,
• Perform other activities as necessary and assigned by the Country director,
