The Tawafoq project is an economic development project that is focused on increasing youth’s access to the labor market and helping MSEs improve their productivity. The project is being implemented in Beirut and Tripoli by two local partners with the support of Swisscontact. In Beirut, SwissContact has been supporting The Nawaya Network in carrying out the project's activities. The first component of the project, coaching for employment, was launched in 2020. Over 100 young Lebanese, Syrians, and Palestinians have completed the training and improved their access to the labor market.

In 2021, a Business Centre was launched in Beirut to help address the second component, the development of MSEs. We are seeking a Focal Point who will contribute to setting up the Business Center to support the MSEs. The Focal Point will take part in developing the organizational structure, identifying relevant stakeholders, managing the staff and volunteers, and overseeing the daily activities. 

The Business Centre will provide the following services to MSEs:

1. Provide Training (legal issues, accounting, digital marketing, finance, and technical skills) to member MSEs to help increase their productivity

2. Provide Business Solutions such as access to a logistics center, a call center, and purchase center

3. Provide Business Support that will help MSEs access new markets, finances, optimize output and distribution

Specifically, the Focal Point will:

1. Develop and maintain quality of communication

• Collaborate and develops internal communication channels

• Ensure and oversee external communication

• Coordinate Kickoff Meetings

• Communicate with member MSEs and project stakeholders

 

2. Setup and maintain a dynamic network of MSEs

• Coordinate network promotions

• Search for and develop opportunities for MSEs

• Develop incentives to attract MSEs to join the Network

 

3. Coordinate Working Teams Within the Scope of the Project

• Identify and select potential projects

• Organize interviews and info sessions

• Coordinate and communicate Scope of Work (already pre-defined)

• Manage call of quotations and collect some procurement information in alignment with the Procurement Unit Rules & Regulations of Nawaya

• Coordinate and assure contract’s quality

• Manage field supervision and daily reporting

• Collect and coordinate payment requests in alignment to the Rules and Regulations of the Finance Unit at Nawaya

 

4. Lead on Technical Evaluation Process

• Coordinate various MSEs assessment

• Identify MSEs business needs and gaps

• Ensure the development of business services

 

5. Identify & Develop Assessment Tools

• Create and collect screening/ Registration Data

• Co-create in developing and collecting project forms with MEAL Units

• Coordinate and collect pre/post assessments

Bachelor Degree in Management or any related field. Experience in the construction sector.Good knowledge and experience in the private sector. Direct personal experience of working successfully in hostile environments or under difficult operational circumstances. Experience in managing large databases and data sets. Work experience in a NGO is a plus. Having an established network of MSMEs is a plus. French is not required, but would be an advantage.
