Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
The incumbent reports to the Content team lead and is expected to assume independent responsibility for prioritisation of day-to-day work.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the creative visual design of UNHCR communication materials, both on and offline, are delivered at a professional level. They are responsible for ensuring that visual designs and video content adhere to brand standards while creating visually appealing and accessible products to meet the objectives of the requesting team and must have an extensive understanding of creative development in relation to usage across channels and devices (including mobile and social media).
Specific duties include filming, collection, and production of video assets to support frequent campaigns, emergencies, content packages for existing donors and other needs with a fundraising angle and/or call to action. This position will work closely with IG and PPH colleagues to respond consistently and effectively to the digital video needs of the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) network and regional partnerships. The Assistant Designer and Video Production officer will also collaborate, liaise with and occasionally manage external videographers and filmmakers to expand and innovate PSP’s digital video storytelling portfolio. This core function is critical to the success of UNHCR communications and will ensure high quality, visually impactful, on-brand products are created by UNHCR for use across a range of audiences, channels and devices.

-Supervise and coordinate the work of the video production team in the IG unit.
Identify opportunities for content and go on periodic field missions to collect video assets for production of digital video fundraising assets.
Work closely with the IG Acquisition and Retention teams to create compelling visual content for content packs and campaigns that reflect UNHCR’s audiences’ visual communication preferences and uphold the highest standard of care for UNHCR people of concern.
Proactively conceive and prepare proposals based on specific needs.
Develop in line with brand guidelines visual content to inspire donors to increase their giving and attract new prospects to donate to UNHCR. Content creation should be tailored to the different pools of donors and based on donor’s profiling and understanding.
Undertake video production/ editing for UNHCR global campaigns
Carry out filming, photography and video production in MENA for campaigns purposes and during emergencies
Design offline creative assets as required including leaflets, booklets, reports, web pages, and digital content
Visual design of infographics, data visualisations, icons and illustrations
Ensure material is tracked, and analysis is done on its performance which helps forward planning and re-prioritisation.
Manage external videographers/filmmakers/animators/graphic designers as required.
Provide support to other UNHCR teams in relation to video and design decisions, and adherence to consistency across UNHCR products

Scheduling multiple projects and delivering to deadlines.
Provide training and guidance on visual design and video best practices
Monitor video and design trends and developments and make appropriate innovative design developments, particularly in relation to Social Media and Digital practices
Participate in working groups and IG digital events in UNHCR relating to Individual Giving, video production and design as required
Perform other related duties as required.
