About ACTED

Project: Menstrual Hygiene Project

With funding from UN Women ACTED will implement activities tacking period poverty/menstrual hygiene issues. As a part of this, ACTED plans to support an MSME to set up a manufacturing facility for the production of menstrual hygiene products in the country. The project will provide support for equipment and raw materials, as well as staffing support for operations and sales for 3 months. In addition, the project will provide technical trainings to the partnering MSME.

Duration of the consultancy:

  • The estimated duration of the workshop is 3 days followed by 8 hours of individual consultation with each MSME.
  • The workshops and consultations are expected to be completed in November 2021.

 

Deliverables:

  • High quality but simple to use presentation developed for MSMEs on financial management, including the following topics:
    • Budgeting,
    • Bookkeeping,
    • Financial reports and statements,
    • Cash management,
    • Accounting,
    • Financial audit,
    • Business Development.

The presentations will be prepared based on ACTED global MSME Training Guide content, but adapted to the local context. Additional topics may be decided jointly with the trainer in order to finalize the business plan.

  • Handouts on information presented distributed to MSME.
  • 3 days of workshop conducted with 1 MSME.
  • 8 hours of individual consultation with 1 MSME.

 

Expert profile

  • Have a finance degree.
  • Have a good knowledge of national regulations.
  • Have Arabic and English language proficiency.
  • Previous experience providing MSME support through NGOs an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience using accounting software such as Quickbooks is a requirement.
  • Experience in developing business plans is a plus.
