AMURT Lebanon Background:

AMURT’s mission is to help improve the quality of life for the poor and disadvantaged people of the world, and those affected by calamity and conflict. It aims to assist individuals and communities to secure life’s necessities and to gain greater social and economic fulfillment, while honoring individuals’ customs, language, and religious beliefs.

AMURT Lebanon registered in 2012 as an independent charitable organization and is affiliated with the AMURT Global Network, headquartered in Washington, USA.

Since 2012, AMURT has been addressing hardships that people living in Lebanon are experiencing. Its programs have ranged from disaster relief and emergency response, to psychosocial support, diverse education programs, child protection, social stability, and is currently focusing on the livelihoods sector.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Create, develop, and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
  • Coordinate media content between Project Teams, Arts & Cultural Specialist, and Program Coordinator
  • Conduct regular visits to projects sites and activities in order to collect visual material, information and needed data
  • Assist in the creation of promotional videos, films, and presentations to increase the visibility of AMURT
  • Edit, publish, and share daily media content (original text, images, video or other)
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analysing appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
  • Keep active engagement with multiple social media platforms for research, posting on social media, contributing to the preparation and delivery of high-impact social media campaigns
  • Update the content of AMURT’s social media platforms
  • Assist in preparing presentations and materials for meetings and workshops to introduce AMURT and project activities, including brochures and fact sheets
  • Develop and maintain a multimedia library including photos and videos
  • Identify, develop and implement lessons learned and success stories
  • Assist in purchasing, maintaining and upgrading of media materials and equipment
  • Assist in writing and designing quarterly and yearly media reports
  • Translate related documents from English into Arabic and vice versa
  • Others as required and agreed upon

 

Skills

•Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a Digital Media Specialist

•Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge

•Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels

•Excellent MS Office skills, excellent typing skills.

•Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

•Demonstrated capacity to innovate and think creatively

•English & Arabic language proficiency are required

•Good knowledge and understanding of Humanitarian Principles.

 

Abilities         

•Collaborative approach with ability to work within different cultural environments.

•Ability to analyze the social environment

•Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines

Working conditions

The Media Officer will be working in a busy and occasionally noisy environment. There may be a number of activities and situations happening at once, and the Media Officer will have to supervise all activities at all times. The Media Officer may also assist in physical lifting and may spend time standing or sitting on the floor.
