The Community Health Educator (CHE) will provide awareness sessions on health and nutrition in general with a focus on infant and young child feeding, immunization and COVID-19 key messages and will work on linking the community to the PHCs for essential services.Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Organize and deliver awareness sessions to parents on nutrition and health topics including Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) and information specific to IYCF in the context of COVID-19 (live or remote).
- Work on complementary feeding recipes and involve families in making the best possible use of locally available resources for improved child feeding
- Coordinate with existing PHCs in the area and link the community to the PHCs and raise awareness on the services provided
- Ensure referral of mothers with IYCF challenges to the PHCs to receive the necessary help
- Refer women with breastfeeding difficulties and in need of IYCF counseling to IOCC Lactation Specialists.
- Support municipalities in raising awareness and disseminating COVID key messages and preventative information for personal health and safety
- Distribute micronutrient supplements for the vulnerable children 6-59 months, through outreach at the community level
- Conduct a monthly rapid assessment on breastfeeding and infant nutrition at the community level to examine the impact of COVID-19 and the economic situation on breastfeeding, IYCF practices, and the nutrition status of PLW and children under five.

Qualifications
- Health Background
- Fluency in reading/writing/speaking Arabic is necessary
- Good public speaking and communication skills
- Strong social, interpersonal and intercultural skills
- Able to meet deadlines
- Computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel
Working Conditions
- Stationed in the municipality and/or community
- The candidate should be residing in the set areas
