To expand its pool of financial consultants in Lebanon, DROSOS Foundation is looking for

Temporary Freelance Work as Junior Finance Consultant

The Freelance Junior Finance Consultant shall be working on a part-time basis upon demand, around 3-5 working days per month, and will be remunerated based on commission. The Consultant shall be based in Lebanon and be ready to travel within the country to the partners’ offices; as a freelancer the selected candidate is responsible for her/his health insurance and transportation. 

 

TASKS

A. Grants contractual support and financial management

  1. Assist in the preparation phase of the partner’s contracting phase, namely on the pre assessment phase
  2. Advise partners in their regular inquiries as regards to their financial and accountancy management
  3. Carry out interim partners’ financial assessment and supporting documentation reviews
  4. Ensure advances/installments justifications are monitored in line with Drosos guidelines and contractual obligations
  5. Review partners’ submission of quarterly or semi-annual financial reports and ensure timely, accurate and complete submission of the financial data
  6. Ensure regular follow up on grants’ documentation/filing

 

 

B. Partners' cash management

  1. Review partners’ funds transfer requests and coordinate with Drosos to ensure the accuracy of the amounts
  2. Support the partners in creating internal control tools for the partner to facilitate their work in case not available (i.e. bank and cash reconciliation)
  3. Ensure the cash liquidation of partners’ received installments and monitor the cash in hand balance
  4. Track the cash situation as well as the budget consumption vs the actual spending of the partners’ grants on a periodic basis, depending on each grant agreement (monthly/quarterly/semiannual)

 

 

C. Partners' capacity development

  1. Play an active role in training and mentoring grant finance staff on matters related to operations and financial management (cash, accounting, procurement, legal aspects related to HR management, banking and cash management etc.)
  2. Identify capacity gaps of partners’ organisations and their staff and provide the necessary feedback to Drosos within the interim financial assessment
  3. Whenever required by Drosos, provide coaching support for the partners

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

i. Previous experience in partnership and grant management with local NGOs/CSOs/CBOs

ii. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in grants management with a focus on financial monitoring

iii. Demonstrable experience with budget preparation, review, and reporting

iv. Experience in nonprofit accounting management with knowledge of use of computerized accounting software’s is highly desirable

v. Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, budget/cash flow monitoring and internal control rules and regulations

vi.Excellent computer skills, with competency in MS Excel is required

vii. Ability to work under minimal supervision and independently

viii. Knowledge of Lebanese labor law, banking sector regulations and economical situation is considered as a distinctive advantage

ix. Good organizational skills and ability to determine priorities to meet multiple deadlines

x. Fluency in Arabic, English and French

 

The selected candidate will receive a coaching and be supervised by the current Finance Consultant of DROSOS FOUNDATION in Lebanon.
