Project Manager
GNFF is looking for an experienced and ambitious Program Manager to lead the anticipated 4-year AFD-funded BASATINE Project (Bolstering Agriculture Systems’ Ability to Invest, Nourish, and Employ) that aims to immediately address food insecurity and provide needed income and technical support to farmers to survive this tumultuous time, as well improve the capacity of food systems to maintain employment and growth in the longer term via stronger domestic production and system linkages.
The Project Manager will lead GNFF BASATINE teams in the implementation of project activities and ensure they comply with the policies and regulations of the donor organization. Moreover, she/he will be at the forefront of the engagement with project teams, project partners, and responsible for overseeing the development and execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes.
The successful Project Manager will have field experience in livelihood and agriculture related activities. Multi-tasking, prioritizing, problem solving and simultaneous attention to detail and working independently are essential. Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving is essential in a complex situation.
- Manage implementation of BASATINE project to achieve key outcomes, outputs, and targets;
- Develop and ensure appropriate tools and strategy to monitor the progress and quality and impact of the project and is implemented;
- Regularly review project outcomes and desired impact against the ever-changing country context, making crucial recommendations for quick adaptations as needed, based on real gender-disaggregated data and analysis;
- Work on project budget and financial forecasting, reconciliation, and reporting in collaboration with the Finance Department, to inform cost-efficient, on-budget programming;
- Operationalize the Consortium agreement, review meetings, and follow-up on agreed items as well as project start-up meetings with all key stakeholders;
- Provide strong servant leadership, encourage, support, coach and mentor the project team, ensuring capacity is built and appropriate results are attained
- Ensure high-quality, timely, accurate and professional donor and organizational reports and work planning to highlight project successes, challenges, adaptations, and situational context;
- Immediately communicate significant issues that may come across to supervisor;
- Work closely with GNFF Communication Director to ensure project appropriate visibility for the donor, and assist to the development of communication materials for BASATINE’s implementation.
- Ensure that a sound gender equality, analysis and inclusion is part of all program’s components.
