Ruwwad is a regional non-profit community development organisation that works with disenfranchised communities through education, youth volunteerism, and grassroots organizing. Our approach encompasses an array of programs and initiatives that deal with issues prioritized by the local community and strengthen agency among beneficiaries. Ruwwad improves resilience and access to livelihood programs in host communities that have shouldered the heaviest burden of the Syrian refugee crisis, whilst themselves being among the most disenfranchised and marginalised communities in Lebanon. Ruwwad Community Center is located between Bab al Tabbeneh and Jabal Mohsen, two neighbourhoods with a history of violent sectarian conflicts, with recent outbreaks of armed conflict related to the Syrian civil war, and among the most poverty stricken and marginalised communities in Lebanon.

The NAWAT consortium started in 2018 and consist of three main community-based organization ( Ruwwad AL Tanmeya, SHIFT, TEC ) that intend to improve economic outcomes for stakeholders through a holistic strategy that approaches challenges in the labour market.

The overall objective of the project is to strengthen local community, MSMEs, start-ups and entrepreneurs’ ability to grow, create jobs and wealth and contribute to the socio-economic inclusion of youth and women.

The project outcomes are:

Outcome 1: Improving access to the labor market among youth and women

Outcome 2: Engaging Businesses and Entrepreneurs

Outcome 3: Empowering the Sustainability of Impact of the NGOs within the Consortium.

Project Implementation

• Pro-actively work toward reaching the project objectives, i.e. strengthening the employability of vulnerable individuals, identifying potential opportunities and placement arrangements, building the capacity of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to access available economic opportunities and facilitating access to the necessary inputs to support their sustainability

•  MSME training program:

o Plan & implement the  mapping for MSME in T5 and conduct needs assessment, collect studies and referrals from other programs  in other organizations

o Liaise and implement the outreach based on the mapping and scoring of needs assessment.

o Liaise with the MEAL on creating tools and analysis data to put in a study format

o deliver support to the MSME beneficiaries and monitor outputs per training by coaching  on technical skills and measure their improvement

o Follow up closely with trainers and quality of trainings facilitated and work closely with trainers to include feedback on MSME progress and assessments

o Develop, update and follow up a detailed work plan, in line with donor agreement and in agreement with the consortium & Livelihoods Project Manager

o Coach partners on job placement by following up on the process and making sure proper implementation of the SOPs

o Conduct regular field monitoring visits to provide support when needed to ensure quality implementation

o Ensure that project activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization

o Liaise with IM and collect data from program trainers and report in timely to the IM.

o Ensure the high quality of the data collected during the assessments, baseline and other quality assurance tools.

Reporting & Information sharing

• Support with drafting narrative and quantitative reports as per project requirements with PM.

•  Ensure internal communication and information sharing on project with relevant staff .

M&E & Quality Assurance

• Work closely with the MEAL department to track the quantitative and qualitative results against the planned outcomes by defining M&E approaches, progress tracking and performance indicators for SMEs productivity, job creation, etc.

• Coaching measurement of MSME owner improvement in technical and personal characteristics

• Filing system in place and according to donor regulations

Experience required:

 4 years’ minimum experience with INGOs in MSME support, apprenticeship programs Livelihoods which would include experience with the following activities:

 

•             Extensive knowledge about enterprise and Tripoli local economy context

•             Working with vulnerable people in slums and vulnerable areas

Requirements - Must be based in North Lebanon

Education degree: Bachelor’s degree or Masters

Field of education: Business, Economics, Management or another related field.

Scope of Authority

  • Obeyed by Ruwwad COC & PSEA policy
  • Reports directly to the PM designated for the project.
