Background : 

MOSAIC is a holistic and interdisciplinary program committed to improving the health and wellbeing of disempowered communities in Lebanon and the MENA/SWANA region overall. Through its national presence and its regional and international networks, MOSAIC's strategic goal is to achieve the coexistence of people in friendly communities and national systems. Founded by activists and legal and health experts, MOSAIC provides specialized and sensitive mental health services (drama and art therapy included), psychosocial support, capacity development and awareness sessions for LGBTIQ+ individuals in addition to protection services including case management and legal services ranging from consultations to representation if necessary.

Scope of Work:
Under the overall supervision of MOSAIC’s General Director and Program Manager, the Social Worker will perform a wide range of duties at MOSAIC's premises related to protection and SGBV, including case management and social-follow ups as well as providing other adequate services to LGBTIQ+ individuals, survivors and/or LGBTIQ+ individuals at risk of violence; through internal and external referrals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Detecting, counseling and following up on individual cases identified during psychosocial activities, referred by other agencies, or identified through outreach and via MOSAIC's helpline
  • Providing listening and counseling services to LGBTIQ+ individuals, survivors and/or LGBTIQ+ individuals at risk of violence;
  • Conducting social assessments and filling intake forms while ensuring that case records are organized and secured as well as calls received from survivors of SOBV and SGBV are well-documented
  • Monitoring and following up on the outcome of the assistance provided, with the support of the MHPSS advisor
  • Facilitating psychosocial support sessions, under the supervision of the MHPSS advisor;
  • Handling Mosaic’s Helpline;
  • Providing basic emotional support for urgent cases;
  • Conducting door-to-door visits, and accompanying SGBV victims to specific service providers when needed (e.g. CMR center)
  • Advocating with different institutions and service providers to facilitate the access of participants to needed resources and services, as well as conducting internal and external referrals;
  • Ensuring coordination and synergy with the main service providers in the area of intervention for prompt referral in addition to following up and ensuring the secure sharing of information;
  • Ensuring the provision of emergency cash assistance (if applicable) for the most vulnerable participants, according to the needs of the participants, the agreed criteria and the internal procedures under the supervision of the Program Manager; 
  • Enrolling eligible participants under Protection Cash Assistance Program;
  • Managing, filling, archiving specific forms for cases' profiling, referrals and weekly reporting ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness – sharing filled template of Activity Info with the Project Manager (if applicable) Weekly;
  • Ensuring that data protection protocol is respected;
  • Being available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the office including case management meetings and SGBV WG meeting or any other meetings when required by the Program Manager;
  • Monitoring and Reporting;
  • Providing weekly updates to the Program Manager about new and ongoing cases assessed;
  • Supporting the maintenance of MOSAIC case management system and the SGBV Information Management System;
  • Accomplishing any other assignments given by the Programs Manager or MOSAIC’s General Director;
