Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to provide a comprehensive response, in line with humanitarian principles and applying both needs based and rights based approaches, to conflict affected populations. PU-AMI promotes humanitarian access and dialogue with all components of the civil society and reinforces the capacity of each vulnerable community (refugees, vulnerable host community) to become self-reliant and resilient, by responding to immediate needs and strengthening their socio-economic empowerment.  

 

Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 21 countries in Africa, the Near East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises.

 

PU-AMI in Lebanon has been implementing emergency and recovery projects in Wash, Shelter, Health, Protection and Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) sectors.

OVERALL MISSION

  1. GENERAL OBJECTIVE

Under the direct supervision of the Food Security and Livelihood Project Manager, the Food Security and Livelihood Field Officer implements and follows up on the activities related to assets distributions (through vouchers), trainings for farmers and gardeners, supporting the creation of networking activities of farmers (cooperatives for access to microcredit) in accordance to contractual commitments and internal procedures.

 

  1. RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND LINKED ACTIVITIES 

  1. ACTIVITIES IMPLEMENTATION

 

      1. Identify and select beneficiaries for the FSL activities according to selection criteria, methodology and tools established at the beginning of the intervention jointly with the technical partner;
      2. Register beneficiaries in the mastertable, follow up with them in daily basis regarding any issue or problem facing by farmers and gardeners on crop production and trees plantation;
      3. Follow up on schedule, content and achievements of the training(s) implemented by the technical partner) based on partnership agreement;
      4. Ensure and monitor the distribution of vouchers to farmers and gardeners;
      5. Ensure participants’ satisfaction and mobilization through regular outreach, following-up with no-shows, drop-outs, etc…;
      6. Participate to regular field visits to farmers and gardeners upon calendar discussed and approved by FSL PM and technical partner;
      7. Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of the activity outputs and outcomes, with the support of FSL PM and MEAL department;
      8. Ensure a constant communication channel with beneficiaries and other stakeholders (municipalities, other FSL partners in the area of intervention) and fostering proper coordination;
      9. Refer identified cases internally or to other departments/partners when needed;
      10. Participate in other activities, in Livelihood or other sectors, as per request of the FSL PM , following the multisectorial approach.

 

  1. ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING

 

  1. Report every day to the FSL PM on attendance and progress, highlight challenges and suggest solutions;
  2. Contribute to assessments (multi-sectorial, technical, rapid needs assessments), according to the needs of the base;
  3. Participate in surveys to identify and prospect network activities for farmers and gardeners;
  4. Keeping the filing of beneficiaries updated (checklist, field visit, monitoring ad hoc activities);
  5. Reporting on the FSL Activity info the achievements on monthly basis.

 

  1. COMMUNICATION & FOLLOW UP

 

      1. Through the creation of specific whatsapp group, respond to beneficiaries’ queries and support  the technical partner in providing technical answers;
      2. Prepare visbility materials (banners, brochure) for the purpose of the intervention;
      3. Promote the organization of info sessions, trainings, events, support the organization of donor’s field visits;
      4. Prepare small updates, articles and success stories from the beneficiaries.

 

The tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are non-exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project’s needs.

  1. PRIORITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT
  1. Finalize identification and selection of beneficiaries;
  2. Provide weekly planning of activities to implement/follow up;
  3. Provide daily reports on progress and challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS

Mandatory requirements

  1. Language skills: Arabic, good English (spoken and written).
  2. Education degree: Baccalaureate / On-site training in social work, relief work or related fields
  3. Work experience: 2 years of experience in a similar position (NGOs/private companies) in a social work/ humanitarian context/ FSL sector. Specific experience in food security and livelihood activities, training activities and business development support activities as strong asset.
  4. Computer skills: Good computer skills, good knowledge of MS Office suite.
  5. Others:
  • Valid driving license (1 year minimum);
  • Intermediate knowledge in in humanitarian and social work, and relief operations;
  • Good knowledge of the concerned district;
  • Good knowledge of Food Security & Livelihood in emergencies;
  • Good knowledge of Community-based participatory approach.
