Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian organization that delivers impartial medical care to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from health care in over 70 countries.

MSF has been working continuously in Lebanon since 2008. Today our operational teams work all over the country delivering quality,  free of charge medical care to those who need it.

MSF Lebanon Branch office is part of the MSF international movement. Our team is composed of 20 full time employees based in Beirut and Cairo working together in the areas of international field recruitment, communications and medical operational support.

From Lebanon and Egypt, we work regionally and contribute globally to MSF’s medical humanitarian response.

 

OBJECTIVE

Médecins Sans Frontières Lebanon – Branch Office is looking for a skilled Digital and Website Manager to be responsible for maximising its visibility through online channels, manage the implementation of the digital strategy, and the creation of a new website.

The Digital and Website Manager is part of the Communications team in Beirut, and continuously monitor and report on strategy, campaigns and MSF Lebanon Website to ensure that set objectives, targets are being met; implement and advise changes, while identifying opportunities across all digital marketing channels, identifying options that can target new audiences and recruit new candidates to work with MSF abroad.

 

Main Responsibilities

Digital Strategy

• Coordinates the development and evolution of MSF Lebanon – Branch Office digital strategy

• Align all digital channels to MSF Lebanon digital strategy

• Regularly report the relevant analysis and data from all digital channels

  • Supervise the Digital Officer in Beirut
  • Support the Digital Marketing and Multimedia Officer in Cairo
  • Follow up the implementation of the social media strategy
  • Perform digital advertising audits
  • Implement the digital marketing/advertising strategies (including SEO) for social media channels.
  • Develop marketing strategies according to the target markets and specific audiences.
  • Launch and manage advertisement/paid online campaigns, either on web (Google Ads, Google Display…) or social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter).
  • Analysis of campaign data and reporting on recommendations and strategy on a monthly basis
  • Propose yearly advertising budget and advice on campaign spending. 
  • Maintain the submission of the monthly social media digital report.
  • Bring technical inputs and online marketing expertise.
  • Manages day-to-day activities and social media marketing campaigns,
  • Develop content relevant to the target audience and manages all published content.
  •  Oversee the design element of campaigns, such as landing page designs, ads, thumbnails, profile pictures, Facebook covers, blog headers, etc.
  • Entail to make sure that all social ad campaigns and promotions align with the organization’s overall marketing campaign plan.

 

Digital Development

  • Visual Design and Web Development Strategy: Ensure the launch of MSF Lebanon website and ensure functional technical aspects of the website, and update its information constantly.
  • Ensure that the website is protected by enabling the appropriate security and backup measures.
  • Ensure website quality and efficiency by conducting regular tests
  • Improve the User Experience of the website regularly, based on recent web standards and guided by user activity reports
  • Create strategies to grow subscriber base and web traffic metrics
  • Identify and respond to the website security breaches (advice to better security audits and practises, lead on consultations with 3rd parties to ensure backup and security of platforms and data)
  • Manage the web hosting and any related issues related to the server, domain name, database..
  • Ensure full compliance on the website with all laws and regulations including GDPR
  • Create landing pages, web forms, short URLs in a matter that would also support existing or planned CRM systems
  • Update code (HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, etc) regularly and when needed  
  • Oversee management of common standard digital technologies supported by MSF Lebanon, ensuring consistency of: Mobile-friendly designs and cross-device support, Databases and Accessibility

 

Branding

  • Brand Development: Collaborate with all staff and management to ensure that the website aligns with brand strategy and meets the organization’s standards
  • Maintain the integrity of the MSF-A brand through ensuring consistent branding, style, and voice on all digital channels.
  • Contribute to MSF activities globally through: supporting relevant international digital initiatives & projects.
  • Discuss and contribute to international MSF digital strategies and the sharing of best practice through participation in meetings and visiting/collaborating with relevant MSF offices.
  • Communicate the latest digital technologies within the organisation is up to date and is consistently optimising its digital platforms and functionality

 

Other Duties

  • Support field operations through the production of high-quality communications as requested, including field visits.
  • Work closely with International Recruitment team.

 

Qualifications

  • Three years’ minimum experience in a similar role managing in-house developer(s), outsourced partners. 

  • Demonstrated experience with analysing data and results (Google Analytics, etc) to present actionable insights to managers and team for improving our approach.

  • Strong management, communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work autonomously, negotiate with business owners and lead a small team.

  • Ability to see the big picture across such areas as Communications, Fundraising, Recruitment, Advocacy, Operations.

  • Excellent leadership skills, capacity to lead by example and develop strong personnel performance goals. 

  • Great understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Paid Per Click (PPC) and Data and Web security.

  • Ability to troubleshoot website issues in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the context in Lebanon and the Middle East as well as humanitarian issues

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet (sometimes very tight) deadlines and manage a complex and varied workload, take initiatives and seize opportunities.

  • Ability to think creatively, use initiative and be flexible to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Fluent spoken and written Arabic and English; other languages an asset.

  • Demonstrate ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects within tight deadlines.

  • Strong attention to details with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team

  • Ability to multitask and balance urgent requests with longer-term projects
