The PSEA Officer will be providing technical support related to PSEA mainstreaming jointly with the PSEA Specialist in all CARE International in Lebanon projects and activities such as deliver PSEA awareness sessions/sensitization sessions, support on the development of PSEA training packages, produce reports concerning the PSEA activities, coordinate and represent CARE International in relevant meetings/working groups when needed and requested.

2. Specific Duties and Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITY 1: Support on Activities implementation (60% of time)

  • Jointly with the PSEA specialist support on developing PSEA mainstreaming plan in all the projects and ensure the implementation of all related activities as planned.
  • Support the PSEA specialist on the preparation and implementation of the PSEA activities (planning and delivery of PSEA training to CARE staff, partners, all related personals and other stakeholders)
  • Support the PSEA Specialist on mapping and identifying capacities, gaps and  risks  related to PSEA (policies, HR processes, trainings, internal and external Reporting, support/assistance to SEA survivors and investigations) and providing feedback on the needed risk mitigation measures and next steps.
  • Jointly with the PSEA specialist ensure internal procedures are shared, updated/adapted and in line with the global standards, IASC policies and best practices in all the PSEA related activities (risk assessment, prevention and response activities, complaint and feedback mechanism, action on SEA complaints/ensuring support for survivors, reporting and investigations)

JOB RESPONSIBILITY 2: Reporting (30% of time)

  • Collect the needed information, data and filling them properly
  • Prepare and support the PSEA Specialist on producing PSEA reports on regular basis

JOB RESPONSIBILITY 3: Representation (10% of time)

  • Represent CARE on relevant working groups, meetings, workshops and related events when needed and requested

a. Skills & knowledge:

  • Experience in PSEA mainstreaming, developing and facilitating training and capacity building activities on PSEA, Accountability to Affected populations in humanitarian and development settings
  • Knowledge and Experience in Humanitarian and Protection principles, SGBV (survivor centered approach, best interest of the child), PSEA core principles, dealing with survivors of SEA, referring SEA survivors to the needed services, reporting, investigations
  • Knowledge/familiarity in data protection and confidentiality measures
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience working with national and/or international NGOs or UN
  • Previous experience in networking and external representation.

At least   1-3  years of relevant experience, especially at NGOs, academic organizations, standard-setting bodies, public agencies focused on humanitarian aids

c. Academic background: 

Bachelor’s degree in one or several of the following areas: social work, humanitarian law or related fields

  1. Languages: English and/ or Arabic are the working language of CARE International in Lebanon.
