Community Mobilizer (4 Positions)

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Community Mobilizer is responsible for mobilizing and facilitating active participation of children and their communities to participate in planning, monitoring & implementation, and evaluation of community development initiatives. Build the capacity of children, families and community to collectively engage local leaders on identified issues. Also, the Community Mobilizer will be in charge of the outreach of beneficiaries, delivering awareness sessions to target audience on Covid-19 prevention, Explosive Ordnance and PFA.

The position will be based in Baalbeck.

Responsibilities

Responsibility 1: Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Community Mobilizer should contribute in implementing Explosive Ordnance Risk Education, Support in raising awareness regarding Covid-19 prevention, and deliver PFA after identifying beneficiaries.

Tasks:    

• Conduct Outreach of beneficiaries on Household and occupation levels.
• Conduct Explosive Ordnance Risk Education sessions.
• Work closely with the project manager and project officer regularly to discuss and update EO RE activities.
• Support project officer in design and plan EO RE activities and send to the PM the EO RE planning on bi-monthly basis.
• Provide the Project officer with IMSMA reports and submissions on daily basis to be submitted to LMAC.
• Identify benefeciaries who need PFA and conduct PFA including follow up afterwards.
• Finalize the distribution of Infection, Prevention, and Control “IPC” kits to vulnerable families in the area of intervention.
• Provide awareness regarding the safe use of IPC kits distributed.
• Conduct Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) workshops and KAP surveys as needed.
• Ensure that safe identification, referral, and follow up mechanism is implemented at both internal and external level as per HI standards when relevant.

Responsibility 2: Data management, reporting, and team collaboration.

Tasks:

• Ensure data collected is accurate, complete and consistent.
• Collect all the missing information from the field related to the outreach process or to IMSMA reporting.
• Arrange all the open files in order and respect confidentiality.
• Participate in the different activities that are common to all team members.
• Work in harmonic coordination with all teams members.
• Timely inform your line manager of your weekly needs and produce the related documentation.
• Daily reporting on IMSMA submissions and bi-monthly planning related to EO RE activities.
• Close follow-up of individual and familial cases related to PFA; to ensure a qualitative follow-up of all the beneficiaries.
• Ensure internal standards and guidelines are respected.
• Continuous follow up on the beneficiary’s sheet and PSO

Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• University degree in the field of Education, Social Sciences, or Psychology.
• At least 2 years’ previous experience in the related field with preference with NGO.
• English and Arabic are mandatory (oral and written), French would be an asset.
• Demonstrate good understanding of conducting Risk Education sessions especially on Explosive Ordnance and ability to perform Focus Group.
•  Understanding of a comprehensive approach on disability and vulnerability.
• Proven coordination skills to work with a diverse network of actors, including the public authorities, in a diplomatic manner.
• Efficient reporting skills from the field.
• Demonstrated effective communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills to manage a number of referral cases timely and accurately.
• Ability to work under high pressure with a great level of personal organization.
• Ability to relate to the target group (be approachable, shows empathy) and work with children.Ability to propose workable solutions and identify their implications (positive and negative) adapted to beneficiaries’ needs.
• Ability to adapt to the harsh environment and work calmly under pressure with limited supervision.

Basic salary range for the position : The Community Mobilizer is going to be paid according to the experience and to HI salary Grid.

Basic Salary range between USD 1030 – USD 1320
