Embrace Lifeline Volunteer Operator

Embrace welcomes applications from individuals with various backgrounds, but preference will be given to those with a background and experience in mental health. Helpline operators work hard at answering crisis calls, de-escalating crises, and providing the caller with emotional support. With the aim of having the Embrace Lifeline available 24/7, the need to have more volunteer helpline operators is major.
To become a Lifeline operator, volunteers are required to submit their profiles, after which they are interviewed and accordingly invited to attend a 4-day training. After successfully completing the training volunteers are enrolled into the volunteering program for an observational period before they take on their role as Embrace Lifeline Operators.
Requirements to become a lifeline operator:
-Age 21 and above
-Ability to commit to serve as volunteer helpline operator for a minimum of one year
-Ability to cover 7 hours of volunteering per week
-Ability to commit in covering shifts running from 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM (10:30 PM - 2:00 AM; 2:00 - 5:30 AM- 5:30 AM-9:00AM)
