Field Worker

On 01st September 2020, Taawon (Welfare Association) – Lebanon Branch with the support of the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF) launched a project titled “Surviving the Implications of COVID-19 providing emergency food assistance to 3033 Palestinian refugee families living in 12 camps and gatherings in Lebanon”. As part of this project, Taawon will provide food parcels to 3,033 refugee families (over 12,000 individuals), which should improve their food security for at least one month. In addition, 910 Infection, Prevention and Control (IPC) kits, and 2,123 disinfection kits will be provided to the selected families in order to reduce and prevent further spreading of COVID-19 in the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Under the overall supervision of the Programs Manager and the direct supervision of the Coordinator of the Community Development Program, the Field Worker will undertake the following:

1. Assist the Coordinator to closely monitor and inspect the packing of food parcels.
2. Ensure all approved items are in the parcels.
3. Make spot check for the beneficiaries to make sure that they get their parcels.
4. Make spot check for each supermarket/supplier to make sure that are abide to the approved conditions and regulations.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

• At least 21 years old
• Have completed secondary education or more
• Knowledgeable of the Palestinian camps (in the south, north or Beirut)
• Have previous working or volunteering experience in the humanitarian field

• Physical ability to walk, move, bend, and carry (if needed)
• Willing to commit for six to eight hours per day for two weeks
• Ability to work under stress
• Willingness to work in the Palestinian refugee camps
• Demonstrated kindness and desire to help and serve others
• Positive inter-personal skills and good communication skills
• Ability to collect, analyze and systematize information
• Ability to work within a team
• Enjoy a structured and organized mindset
