Functions/ Key Deliverables
The trainer will help developing a deeper understanding for legal information officers to translate the needs of community into an effective advocacy messages to the relevant stakeholders and customise an advanced training programme and a related tool kits to strengthen and maintain the capacity of legal information officers.
The Advocacy Trainer will perform activities in accordance with the programme and project objectives set out below:
Training agenda and modules must cover the following: (1) introduction to Advocacy in the legal aspect i.e. S/GBV, human rights, civil documentation (2) how to tailor advocacy messages (3) advocacy strategies on different levels (4) online and grassroot advocacy campaigns phases (5) importance of creative content in advocacy (6) community mobilization and change of policy.
- Coaching on inter and intra personal skills;
- Delivering a training module to a group of 24 participants;
- Developing a training packs and materials for all modules including case discussion; F&Q, and learning forums to be made available in English and Arabic;
- Initiating an applicable exercise on developing a campaign (idea, background, implementation plan, monitoring tools, risk assessment, media plan);
- Draft pre/post-test with % increase in knowledge mentioned in the report along with each participants interaction level/ feedback.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications Required:
- University degree in communication, training, advocacy or other related fields;
- Experience in developing and monitoring advocacy campaigns online and offline related to women rights, GBV prevention and human rights in general;
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively advanced professional training in the mentioned field;
- Proven familiarity with Lebanese/Syrian context and an excellent understanding of refugee issues;
- Experience in facilitation and training using hands-on participatory approaches;
- Good communication skills and high flexibility;
- Fluency in Arabic is a must.
The training should be conducted verbally in Arabic, and all material needs to be in Arabic and English. The report that will be provided to LAW should be in English, clearly outlining the impact of the training on participants.
