MEDECINS DU MONDE FRANCE in Lebanon seeks

psychologists for staff-care (M/F)

For more than 30 years, Médecins du Monde (MdM), a campaigning medical organization committed to international solidarity, has been caring for the most vulnerable populations at home and abroad. It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies. Those working for this independent organization do not solely dispense care and treatment but condemn violations of human dignity and rights and fight to improve matters for populations living in precarious situations. MdM currently works in 46 countries across all continents where it focuses on 4 priority areas: caring for the health of migrants and displaced persons, promoting sexual and reproductive health, combating HIV and reducing the harm and risks associated with drug use, crises and conflicts.

Médecins du Monde grants particular attention to the well-being of the persons who work on its projects. MdM is aware that both support and operational staff working on the field are at risk and may need to be referred to a supportive therapist.

Today, in order to better answer the issues met by our staff, MdM wants to establish a pool of experienced therapists, ready to be called in case of needs. The therapists have to be based in Lebanon and ready to travel within the country.

The therapists will be called and should be available to:

  • Receive employees for short follow-up care / problem resolution / stress management tools/ relaxation
  • Receive employees for short debriefing missions during emergencies or crisis
  • Provide crisis intervention consultation to all members of the team if needed
  • Perform risk assessments and make referrals when needed
  • Provide appropriate mental health support and/or treatment through individual or group counselling or therapy
