Natural Reserve Sustainable Management Plan Consultant

Purpose of the Position

The Nature Reserve Sustainable Management Plan consultant at the Association for Forests, Development and Conservation (AFDC) in partnership with the Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is responsible for the preparation of the sustainable management plan for the Yammouneh Natural Reserve. S/he applies Nature Reserve Sustainable Management Plan consultant principles and procedures, provides accurate and timely information to AFDC and LRI’s Project Managers and AFDC and LRI’s NGO Directors, and ensures Nature Reserve Sustainable Management Plan consultant procedures.

In close coordination with AFDC and LRI’s Project Managers, the Nature Reserve Sustainable Management Plan consultant is expected to accomplish the following duties:

• Duty 1: Develop Sustainable Management for the Yammouneh Reserve.
• Duty 2: Develop management units for the Yammouneh Reserve and action plan with guidelines for each unit that fall under the Sustainable Management plans
• Duty 3: Develop the management plan in Coordination with Eco-tourism consultant of Yammouneh reserve through community-based approach by holding up to 5 roundtable events (1 event/month) that will gather the local community, the stockholders and the experts.
• Duty 4: Develop an action plan for the reserve’s committee.

Qualifications

The Nature Reserve Sustainable Management Plan consultant should possess the following competencies, skills, and experience:

• Experience 1: Degree in the relevant fields.
• Experience 2: Experience in the Sustainable Management Plans preparation and reporting for at least 3-5 years.
• Experience 3: Experience in conducting round table events and working with the local communities.
