Mercy Corps: BPRM GBV- Call for partnership

Mercy Corps is looking for four local partners, two in South and two in Bekaa. The partnership between Mercy corps and the local service providers will not be as sub grant. It is aiming to strengthen their ability to improve their care and support services to GBV survivors through assessment and identification of gaps, providing training and ongoing coaching to increase the capacity of local service provider to apply survivor-centered approaches, GBV standard operation procedures and IASC standards.

The program team will work with service providers to develop comprehensive capacity building plans, based on assessments; to help them become more capable of applying survivor centered approaches and IASC standards. Capacity building plans will be in the form of assessment and identification of gaps, providing training and ongoing coaching and will include trainings to build core competencies like: applying SGBV SOPs, the principles of safe identification protection analysis, psychological First Aid, building referral systems, and using emotional intelligence. Service providers will be trained on referral pathways and will be involved in creating community maps to show unsafe areas (i.e. places where harassment is mostly happening), safe spaces (i.e., community centers, service providers, lighted areas), and resources and assets (hospitals, police departments).

Training provided to partner organizations will include the specific needs of male survivors, and lateral advocacy within the referral network will raise the importance for trained specialized service provision to men and boys. It is recognized that analysis of the risks and barriers to access faced by men and boys may require review of the diversity of GBV staff / partner staff, and adjustments will be made accordingly.

This activity will target local organizations, which will be identified based on key criteria:
