Call For Papers: Knowledge Products For Civil Society In Lebanon

Lebanon Support, with the support of the Norwegian Embassy, is currently developing an online research and knowledge center aimed at supporting civil society work in Lebanon in providing information and knowledge products relevant to their work and operations.

Within this framework, Lebanon Support is looking for Academics, Researchers and Practitioners to develop a series of papers on a multitude of topics that could support civil society organizations and development practitioners in Lebanon to best conduct their interventions.

To this end, Lebanon Support is currently looking for candidates to develop context and research papers on the following issues and problematics:

1) The situation of Aid and Aid Effectiveness regarding Syrian refugees in Lebanon, taking a in-depth look at intervention strategies, their sustainability and the current situation and conditions of the Syrian refugee community in Lebanon, and how consistent are interventions with regard to the current and changing needs?

2) Gender Politics in Lebanon: in the recent years we have seen an outburst of initiatives from civil society organizations towards enhancing the status of women in Lebanon, how do these interventions relate to the general conditions of women in Lebanon, and to the question of “Gender”, and how effective is civil society in Lebanon in advancing gender equality?

3) Rapid regional assessment of the conditions and situation of Syrian refugees in Lebanon:are their regional differences in needs? Legal and political environment of the regions that Syrian refugees are present in Lebanon? What are these differences and are they taken into consideration in aid interventions? And what are the possible risks and challenges to aid provision in light of these differences?

4) An overview of funding policies and conditions regarding Syrian refugees aid provision in Lebanon: who are and what are the characteristics of the actors involved? What is the status of cooperation and coordination between them? And what are the main trends in aid interventions?

Technical directives:

- All papers should be written in English.

- The paper should not exceed the 4,000 words limit.

- The written paper should be supported with available literature and interviews with experts and practitioners.

- References should be clearly listed according to the Harvard system of referencing.

Remuneration:

Remuneration for the work will be decided based on the proposed outline and synopsis presented by the candidate.
