The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) is currently implementing a project funded by the Dutch Government and entitled “Promotion of Agricultural Livelihoods and Employment through Investment in Land Reclamation and Water Reservoirs” in close collaboration with the Green Plan.

The principal objectives of the proposed terms of reference are to: identify the potential insect pests, diseases and invasive plant species; through a survey identify current status of insect pests and invasive plants in the Lebanese forests; assess the potential risk (likelihood of entry spread and establishment and impact) in Lebanese forests of insects pests, diseases and invasive plants; and propose pest risk management options for their management including biological control methods.
