Policy Researcher – Part Time For Policy Development Hub For Lebanese Youth And Csos

Brief Program Description: Policy Development Hub for Lebanese Youth and CSOs
Powered by the Youth Economic Forum, an independent non partisan NGO dedicated to empowering Lebanese youth in public affairs, the program aims at consolidating YEF offering policy development tools for Lebanese youth (students, activists and researchers from different backgrounds and regions) and Civil Society Organizations in Lebanon. The program shall develop into a guide into non partisan, scientific and objective methods to design and draft public interest related policies.
 The program contains multiple layers of action, from the training of new policy trainers for YEF, organizing policy debates and specific workshops in partner universities and with partner NGOs. The policy researcher will mainly have to provide research efforts and follow-up with the evolution of the members within ongoing advocacy campaigns.
 
Job Description:
Support YEF Advocacy Campaigns
-        Supporting YEF working groups by providing policy data, research material and methodology guidance;
-        Coaching YEF working groups in their tasks and responsibilities;
-        Working in perfect coordination with the program coordinator;
 
Support YEF Policy Development Hub
-        Supporting and coaching group of YEF policy trainers
-        Providing policy data and research material to group of YEF policy trainers
-      Monitor news and updates related to relevant policy sectors and create databases by sector;
-        Supporting the drafting and editing of the Policy Development Guide;
-        Reporting to the Chief Policy Trainer;
 
Education & Qualifications
-       Masters or PhD in Public Management, Social Sciences or equivalent
-       Advanced Research skills through a previous experience in relevant field
-       Experience in working with NGOs in Lebanon
-       Ability to work in a team
-       Mobility throughout the Lebanese territory
-       Excellent written and oral skills for internal and external communication in Arabic as well as in English (French is a plus)
 
The Policy Researcher – part-time would begin duties as of 1st April 2012 until October 2012. Remuneration is approximately 700$ per month.
