Background

The Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) is a regional network on harm reduction covering 20 countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The main goal of MENAHRA is to prolong and improve the quality of life of People Who Inject Drugs (PWID) through harm reduction approach in the region. Recognizing the crucial role of the civil society in delivering health services to key populations at increased risk, MENAHRA’s key strategy focuses on strengthening the role of the civil society in implementing harm reduction interventions in the MENA region.

MENAHRA is seeking to contract a suitably qualified and experienced consultant/firm to undertake work associated with the development of visual strategic messaging relevant to harm reduction and drug use for the 2018 World AIDS Day (WAD). The purpose of this Terms of Reference (TOR) is to solicit competitive proposals for the consultancy advertised.

Responsibilities

In coordination with the MENAHRA Program Coordinator and Communications Officer, the consultant will:

• Conduct virtual consultations with representatives of civil society organizations (CSOs), regional networks, and groups of People Living with HIV and People Who Use Drugs to agree on messages and action plan
• Develop key strategic messages and a detailed action plan, that reflect challenges to be highlighted and the target groups in the context of the 2018 WAD theme
• Develop, in coordination with a designer, animated infographics on the suggested topics for WAD
• Develop guidance for message use and dissemination during WAD for CSOs in the region

Ending date: July 22, 2018 ​

Requirements:

• Candidates must be in possession of a degree in Public Health or related field and have experience in material development, preferably infographics
• Candidates must be familiar with the topic of Harm Reduction and Key Populations.
• Candidates must be Fluent in English and/or Arabic. French is a plus.
