The Learning to CARE Institute is seeking an intern from within Lebanon to help it develop its first summer youth program. The program will consist of three 2-week sessions (or possibly two 3-week sessions) to take place between mid-June and mid-August. They will provide learning, volunteering, and touring experiences for youth (18-30) from abroad, particularly for youth of Lebanese or other Arab heritage, as well as a limited number of youth residing in Lebanon. The Lebanese intern, together with an intern from abroad, and the director of LTCI, will form a planning team to develop all aspects of the program, including program content, logistics, marketing, web and social media development, screening of applicants, and implementation of the program. The intern from within Lebanon will be expected to provide some understanding of what is available for youth in Lebanon, while the intern from abroad (already selected) will represent the kind of youth the program is targeting. This will be a great learning experience for both interns, providing the opportunity for them to be directly involved in developing a unique and exciting program for youth to experience Lebanon in a very special way. The interns will assure the youth perspective in developing the program. And they, in turn, will learn project management, get to know Lebanon better, and interact with NGOs, government agencies, and service providers. General office work will also be part of the internship.
