In 2013, Kayany Foundation was established and registered as a Lebanese non-governmental organization (#1806) providing free, secular and formal education to Syrian refugee children and youth, of whom mostly reside in informal tented settlements (ITS). The foundation focuses on some of the world’s most disenfranchised children in an effort to save a whole generation at risk. Kayany’s mission involves constructing and operating schools for Syrian refugee children in the Bekaa Valley (Bar Elias – Saadnayel – Majdal Anjar – Meksi).

The Program Manager (PM) is a Grant/Project Manager and the technical lead and supervisor of Kayany programs including youth, child protection and emergency related projects/programs.

HEEAP ( Higher Education English Access Programme ) is a project in partnership between Kayany Foundation and the American University of Beirut , which aims to serve Low-Income Lebanese and Refugee Young Adult Students.

A team of psychosocial support specialists/trainers will be trained to train the facilitators (teachers and community workers) (approx. 50) who will facilitate the Safe and Sound program with small groups of students in the schools. These specialists/trainers will also provide ongoing support to the facilitators during the intervention. Safe and Sound project partners include American University of Beirut (CCECS and AUBMC), Maastricht School of Management with Living Peace Institute and Kayany Foundation. The Dutch government through NUFFIC provides funding for the project.

PADILEIA is a project in partnership between Kayany Foundation, the American University of Beirut and King’s College in London, which produces and delivers blended higher education programs to Syrian refugees and Lebanese participants. In Lebanon, the Foundation Certificate prepares students for the official exams and entrance to university through an intensive 8-month program in GHATA study hubs in Bar Elias, Bekaa. The partnership aims to broaden access to high-quality educational programs, provide a foundation for further higher education and prepare students for their futures.
